The countdown to Mingtiandi’s first in-person event of 2024 has reached the two-week mark, with more than 250 industry professionals expected to attend the Hong Kong Focus Forum at the Ritz-Carlton at the ICC on 14 May.
The forum will open with a keynote panel on Greater China’s macro outlook featuring Gaw Capital Partners president and managing principal Kenneth Gaw, CPP Investments managing director of real estate Rebecca Lam, LaSalle Investment Management head of Greater China Claire Tang and Invesco Real Estate APAC head Calvin Chou.
The schedule continues with a keynote interview featuring George Hongchoy, executive director and CEO of the manager behind Link REIT — Asia’s biggest listed property trust — followed by a panel on the future of the office with Neil Anderson, director and head of office and commercial property at Hongkong Land; Don Taylor, director of office at Swire Properties; Simon Chua, co-founder and executive director of Lead8; and Bernie Devine, senior regional director for Asia Pacific at Yardi, the event’s sponsor.
A new addition to this year’s programme is a panel discussion on North Asia lodging and living, with the session set to welcome Alan Kam, founder and CEO of AB Capital Investment; Chedli Boujellabia, managing partner and CEO of Alyssa Partners; Charles Ma, managing director for China investment at Greystar; and Chester Foo, head of investment for North Asia at Frasers Hospitality.

After a break for lunch, the forum resumes with a keynote interview featuring Serakai founder and CEO Benjamin Cha, who will share how he is transforming assets into art and culture anchored spaces through placemaking.
DBS’s Sherman Hung then moderates a panel on Hong Kong value-add and opportunistic strategies with John Saunders, group chief investment officer of Link; Carol Chow, founder and chairperson of Lofter Group; Janice Yau Garton, partner at Stephenson Harwood; and Collin Lau, founder and CEO of BEI Group.

Investment opportunities in mainland China take centre stage in a panel discussion with Hubert Chak, executive director and CEO of SF REIT; Humbert Pang, managing principal and head of China for Gaw Capital Partners; and Andrew Goodridge, partner at Asia Green Real Estate.
The forum concludes with a spotlight interview featuring Qiqi Zhang, managing director of Warburg Pincus, and Craig To, vice president and head of capital raising at Vlinker, as the capital partners unveil strategies for building super communities to meet China’s ongoing urbanisation.
