This week a global investment manager goes direct into the Shanghai government in to bolster their mainland operation, a major mainland PE firm pulls in talent from a European real estate investment specialist and the property services gang shuffle their staff around for the summer. Read on for all the latest on who got the job you always wanted, here in the last week of July.

carrie jiaCarrie Jia has joined CBRE Global Investors as Vice President in the Global Investor Services team, based in Shanghai. Jia, who served with the Shanghai Municipal Government Financial Services Office for two years before joining CBRE GI, will participate in fund-raising activities, marketing a range of international funds to Chinese institutional investors, coordinating client service programs and product development activities, and assisting with regulatory matters in China. The graduate of Durham University in the UK also has previous experience with SPD Bank in Shanghai, and HSBC.

Crystal QinCrystal Qin is now Investment Director with JD Capital, based in Beijing. Qin joins the mainland private equity heavyweight from White Peak Real Estate, where she had served for more than nine years, most recently as Manager for Investment and Acquisition. At JD, the graduate of China University of Political Science and Law will be joining an investment firm with RMB 30 billion and $300 million in assets under management.

Gavin TjongGavin Tjong has taken over as General Manager for the Chengdu office of DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield, expanding his territory with the property agency. Tjong, who has served as General Manager for northwest China with DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield since 2013, will now cover the largest cities in western China for the real estate services company. A graduate of the University of Hong Kong, prior to 2013 Tjong had served as head of the markets division with JLL in Chengdu.

Samuel LaiSamuel Lai has been promoted to Senior Director for Asia Pacific with CBRE’s industrial services team. Based in Hong Kong, Lai has taken over as head of the sheds division for the real estate agency in the region, following the departure of Darren Benson last month. The University of Hong Kong graduate has now been with CBRE since 2008, serving most recently as director in the same division.

Yu Ping WangYu Ping Wang has been promoted to Senior Consultant with the Strategic Consulting division at JLL in Taiwan. Wang takes this latest step up after serving two and a half years as a Consultant in the same division, assisting clients with development research and other real estate planning challenges. The graduate of National Taipei University also holds a degree in design from the University of Melbourne’s school of design, and has been with JLL since 2012.
