As he COVID-19 pandemic has cast a pall over the prospects for investments globally, investments in the rental residential sector jumped by 157 percent during the first six months of 2020, compared to a year earlier.

To better understand the outlook for Asia’s multi-family sector in 2021, Mingtiandi is organising the Multi-Family Investment Forum 2021, sponsored by Yardi, as an online gathering of the region’s leading experts on rental apartment investment.

Warburg Pincus has been among the most active proponents of the “beds and sheds” approach to Asia real estate investment, was an early investor in Shanghai Golden Union Investment, a redevelopment specialist which listed a unit focused on property management on a mainland stock exchange in 2020.

Warburg Pincus managing director Qiqi Zhang, who leads the company’s investments in the residential sector, together with Jessica Yu Minjun, chair of Golden Union, will be sharing with Mingtiandi’s Michael Cole their experiences in developing build to rent projects in China and what they expect for the coming year.
