The Mingtiandi Singapore Forum 2024 is now just over one month away with senior executives from Hong Kong’s Gaw Capital Partners and Vietnam’s BW Industrial confirming their participation this week.
With these latest additions the roster for the forum on 10 September has now reached 18 speakers from organisations including some of the world’s largest pension funds and investment managers, with more than 200 industry professionals expected to attend what will be Mingtiandi’s biggest event ever.
The program is headlined by spotlight interviews with senior executives from Brookfield Asset Management and Bain Capital, with a keynote panel bringing together top leaders from Ivanhoe Cambridge, Oxford Properties and Savills.
The forum, which is sponsored by Yardi, will be held at the Pan Pacific Orchard hotel, with the entire program to be streamed to viewers globally on Mingtiandi’s MTD TV video platform.
Hotels, Sheds and Rental Residential
With hotels growing in popularity as an asset class with institutional investors in Asia Pacific, Nantachatr (Mink) Yampandh, a director with the investment team at Gaw Capital Partners’ GCP Hospitality unit joining a panel on hospitality investment in APAC. Yampandh will speak alongside Kazuya Wakimoto, general manager for global real estate business planning and promotion with Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank and other speakers to be named in the coming days.
Warburg Pincus-backed BW Industrial will be represented at the forum by Gene King, the company’s chief investment officer. King is participating in a panel on Southeast Asia’s Industrial Outlook with ESR Group’s head of Southeast Asia Jai Mirpuri. Additional speakers will be announced for that discussion imminently.
In addition to the hospitality and industrial panels, the forum will also feature a session on rental residential investment with Kelvin Lim, executive chairman, executive director and group managing director for LHN Group; Eugene Lim, founder and chief executive officer of fast-growing co-living operator The Assembly Place; and Centurion Corporation chief investment officer Ho Lip Chin.
The event will open with Mingtiandi founder Michael Cole interviewing Brookfield Asset Management managing partner and head of East Asia real estate Andrew Burych, who will be sharing insights from his experience leading investment and portfolio management in the region for the Canadian giant.
The afternoon session features the spotlight interview with Bain Capital, which will be represented by Michael Hui, a partner who heads special situations and real estate for China with the investment firm, and Man Kinoshita, a partner from Bain’s Japan special situations team.
The keynote panel session brings together Laurent Fischler, head of investments for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge; Alessandro Fiascaris, head of Asia Pacific for Oxford Properties; and Jeremy Lake, managing director for investment sales and capital markets with Savills Singapore.
Registrations on the Rise
Additional sessions include a panel on Singapore’s growing prominence as a global capital hub with Ronald Tan, senior vice president for global sales and origination with the capital markets division of the Singapore Exchange; Tom Kidd, a Singapore-based partner with management consulting firm Bain & Company; DLA Piper partner Ciaran Londra; and Samuel Lee, chief executive of online investment platform Fraxtor.
Also on the agenda is a session focused on the India market led by Josephine Yip, vice president for investments and asset management for Asia Pacific at Ivanhoé Cambridge.
With just over one month to go before the event, more than 150 senior industry leaders have already registered for the forum with more than 10 percent representing major pension funds, insurers and sovereign wealth funds.
