Janice Yau Garton has extensive experience in real estate transactions (both locally and cross border), specialising in property investments and acting for institutional investors, funds, hospitality groups, retail brands, property developers, family offices, private equity firms and REITs.
She is a member of the firm’s decarbonisation delivery team and co-authored Stephenson Harwood’s White Paper on how the legal services sector might support Asia’s transition to a low carbon economy. She is also on the Hong Kong Green Financing Association’s Real Estate working group and is working with HKU’s LITE Lab/TCLP Climate Contracting Initiative on the HK chapter of the Chancery Lane Project.
Janice is ranked as a Next Generation Partner for Real Estate (2022-2024) and Rising Star for Real Estate (2020 & 2021) in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific Hong Kong Guide, and a ‘next generation lawyer’ in its 2017-2019 editions. She is also ranked Band 4 for Real Estate in Chambers Greater China Region.
Janice is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and a solicitor and barrister in Ontario, Canada.
