Top level personnel changes at mainland developers continue to lead the people news in the industry, as some of China’s biggest homebuilders reshuffle their top positions during the current slowdown. Developer Landsea Group’s reshuffling of their executive suite leads today’s people moves while in India, a local agency continues to lure executives away from one of the leading international brokerages. Xiang Yong has resigned from his positions as director and president of Landsea Green (HK: 0106) to focus on his duties as president of it parent company, Nanjing’s Landsea Group, according to an announcement to the Hong Kong stock exchange on October 23rd. Taking over Xiang’s duties at Landsea Green will be former Jingrui and China Overseas Land and Investment executive, Wang Lei, who has now been appointed as an executive director and co-president with the company, after becoming an executive vice-president of the company in May of this year.
Andy Zhang this month joined Everbright Ashmore as a Director with the private equity real estate investment manager. Zhang signed up with the real estate investment division of mainland investment firm China Everbright after more than four years with China Xintiandi, including more than two years as General Manager of the company’s flagship commercial project in Shanghai. Zhang also has previous experience with Cushman & Wakefield and Savills.
India property brokerage Anarock last week announced the appointment of Ashutosh Limaye as the head of its newly formed consulting division. At Anarock Limaye, who previously served as National Director and Head of Research at JLL India will be reunited with his former boss, Anuj Puri, who left JLL to set up Anarock last year, and has steadily be hiring away his former team members this year.
Aedas executive Dr. Benny Chow is now a Director of the BEAM Society Ltd in Hong Kong, where he represents the Construction Industry Council with the non-profit organisation which promotes sustainable design and construction in the city. Chow’s day job is Director of Sustainability with Aedas in Hong Kong, and he also serves as an advisor for the LEED Data Centers Advisory (China) Committee for the US Green Building Council.
Sean Linkletter has been promoted to Director with JLL in Shanghai, where he now serves as head of the company’s REIS data service for China. The graduate of the University of South Carolina and veteran of Hopkins-Nanjing Centre international program in the capital of Jiangsu province has been with JLL in China since 2015, where he had served as a Senior Analyst prior to this most recent promotion.
