Savills Investment Management has added Volker Wanka to its Singapore operation as the international real estate investment manager continues to expand its business in Asia.
The 12-year real estate investment veteran has moved from Savills IM’s Frankfurt office to take on the role of Director of Fund Management in Singapore. In his new role, Wanka will lead the fund management and transaction activities for Savills IM’s Asia Property Fund 2 and Asia Pacific Fund, as well as help grow the firm’s portfolio in Asia by taking charge of some of Savills IM’s upcoming Asian-themed products, according to a statement by the company.

Moving Back to Asia to Manage Asian Funds

Savills IM has been expanding its business in the Asia since it acquired SEB Asset Management in September 2015. That same month the UK-based firm brought on board former Morgan Stanley executive Craig Pearce as Head of Asset Management for Asia. Flynn was promoted to APAC CEO in May of last year, stepping up from his former role sas head of southeast Asia for the company.
