The fallout from a set of investigations into executives at state-run developers in China leads this week’s set of personnel updates on Mingtiandi, with the chairman of two Hong Kong-listed units of Xiamen C&D Group making a hasty exit. Also in the news are senior level appointments at Princeton Digital Group, Blackstone’s DragonCor and Kaisa Group’s property management division.

Zhuang Yuekai of Xiamen C&D

Zhuang Yuekai lost his positions as chairman and executive director at both C&D International Investment Group Ltd and its C&D Property Management Group unit this past week after authorities in the companies’ home city of Xiamen, Fujian province announced that the executive, who also serves as deputy managing director of state-run Xiamen C&D Group, was under investigation. Zhuang was one of a number of executives at state-run mainland developers announced as under investigation last week.

Kenji Hioki PDGSingapore-based data centre developer and operator Princeton Digital Group said this past week that it has appointed former Colt Technology Services executive Kenji Hioki as an executive advisor. The appointment of Hioki, who spent more than 12 years at Colt, where he served most recently as vice chairman for Asia, comes soon after PDG, which is backed by Warburg Pincus, kicked off construction of a 100 megawatt data centre campus in Saitama prefecture, north of Tokyo.

Gu XunchiaoBlackstone’s DragonCor division announced on 26 August that it has hired former Ernst & Young consultant Chunxiao Gu as director and head of ESG with the logistics development platform. Gu is charged with transforming DragonCor’s sustainability commitment into measurable achievements, according to a company statement. Before joining the Blackstone unit Gu had spent more than seven years with Ernst & Young in Beijing.

Kaisa Prosperity Holdings, the property management division of defaulting Shenzhen developer Kaisa Group, said on 22 August that it has appointed Zhao Jianhua, a former high ranking police official from Yongzhou in Hunan province as an executive director effective that same day. Now 51, Zhao previously served as commissar of the police security department of the Public Security Bureau in Yongzhou, according to a biography provided by Kaisa Prosperity to the Hong Kong exchange. The personal record did not mention previous real estate experience, however, Kaisa Group has made shanty town redevelopment projects one of its core businesses in recent years with such projects often requiring relocation of local residents.

Jennie ChoJennie Cho has joined the real estate strategy and transactions team at Google in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn update. Cho joins the tech giant after a year and a half at ST Telemedia Global Data Centres in the Little Red Dot, where she served as part of the investment and asset management team.
