A pair of senior level hires in the data centre sector lead this week’s collection of personnel moves from around the region with both GLP and the former Colony Capital expanding their teams. Also making the list is a new director at developer KWG and new hires at brokerages CBRE and Savills.
GLP announced on 19 July that it has hired former Microsoft executive Jennifer Weitzel as president of its global data centre business. With GLP having invested in data centres since 2018, Weitzel will lead strategy, growth and operations for the industrial specialist’s data centre business in Japan, Europe and the Americas while partnering with the company’s digital infrastructure leadership in China to create a global business. Weitzel spent six years at Microsoft, where she served most recently as vice president for cloud infrastructure lease and M&A. The graduate of the London Business School also has previous experience with Digital Realty.
DigitalBridge Group said on 19 July that it has appointed Tae E Ahn as managing director and head of Asia capital formation at its DigitalBridge Investment Management division in Singapore. Ahn is expected to work alongside the existing team at the digital infrastructure firm formerly known as Colony Capital to enhance client relationships in the region and improve its capital formation efforts. Prior to joining Digital Bridge, Ahn served as head of Korea at Partners Group.
KWG Group disclosed to the Hong Kong stock exchange on 21 July that it has appointed Patrick Law Yiu Wing as an independent, non-executive director on its board where he will also serve on the audit committee, remuneration committee and nomination committee. Now 59, Law joins the mainland developer’s board shortly after leaving his position as chief operating officer for the Hong Kong unit of Beijing-based Minmetals Land.
Investment broker Callum Young has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as executive director of capital markets for Asia Pacific, according to an announcement by the property consultancy on 18 July. Specialising in cross-border transactions, Young joins CBRE from Savills in Singapore where had spent nearly four years as an executive director after serving stints at the firm’s offices in Seoul, London and Glasgow.
Arnaud Sebban has been promoted to country manager for China at industrial developer and project management firm GSE in Shanghai. Sebban revealed his promotion this past week on LinkedIn after having spent more than five years as deputy managing director and head of sales for China and Asia Pacific with the French firm. Sebban has now been with GSE since 2001 and has also served as commercial director and business development manager at the company.
Jessica Kwan has joined Savills in Singapore as an associate director with their industrial team, according to a LinkedIn update. Kwan joins the property consultancy this month after more than three years with CapitaLand, where she had served as a senior manager with the customer services and solutions team after joining the company as part of its merger with Ascendas-Singbridge in 2019.
Adam Fitzpatrick has been promoted to country director with Independent Property Services Cambodia, according to a LinkedIn update. Fitzpatrick took his step up shortly after joining the firm in May as head of advisory and transactions. Until February of this year the University of Nottingham graduate had worked as an associate director with Phnom Penh-based brokerage DA&G, while also serving for two and a half years as a consultant with Nikko Capital Investments in Vietnam.
