One of China’s most important gatherings of real estate investors will be held in Shanghai on Wednesday, as some of the region’s biggest real estate developers, fund managers, and asset managers gather for the Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) China Forum 2015.
Mingtiandi’s Michael Cole will be facilitating the discussions among leaders from BlackRock, CPPIB, Vanke, CICC, CapitaLand and other major real estate investors by chairing the lead session of the event, which will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jing An District.
Now being held in Shanghai for the fourth time, the PERE China Forum last year attracted more than 200 corporate leaders from the region’s real estate investment community, and the organisers expect this year’s attendance to be even greater.
Finding Out Where China’s Best Opportunities are in 2015
In this year’s session, the organisers have set up panel discussions and presentations on outbound investment from China, competition between foreign and domestic investors for opportunities in China, and niche opportunities, such as logistics real estate and senior housing.
During the event, Mingtiandi’s Michael Cole will be leading a panel discussion on how cashflow stress among China’s developers is opening up opportunities for private equity investors on the mainland.
Cole will be leading an exchange of ideas between Avery Colcord, a partner at local investment house West Lake Group and former China Managing Director with Carval; Neal Ledger, Managing Director and Head of the Real Estate and Hotel Group for Asia (Ex Japan) at Crédit Agricole CIB; and Johnny Adji, Senior Investment Director at Cambridge Associates.
During the panel discussion, the three investment experts will explore the potential for more distress in China’s real estate market this year, and how private equity investors may be able to get involved in acquisitions of assets or provide financing to take advantage of the current environment.
Also appearing at the event will be speakers from Ping An Insurance, Global Logistics Properties, Gaw Capital, Ascendas, Warburg-Pincus, and Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners.
Mingtiandi Appearing at 3 Real Estate Investment Events in 3 Weeks
The appearance by the Mingtiandi founder at the PERE event is one of a series of high profile positions for Cole at China real estate events over a three week period, as the China real estate intelligence website gains greater recognition in the community.
Just last week Cole presented on how changes in China’s regulatory environment are amplifying the country’s outbound investment wave at a Shanghai event organised by online real estate platform Juwai.com.
From the 16th to the 18th of June, the Mingtiandi real estate analyst and speaker will be chairing the first day, as well as the final day of the Real Estate Investment World (REIW) conference in Singapore.
