Aaron Desange promotion was one of a number of moves made by JLL’s Hospitality arm last week
After strengthening its hotel brokerage team in Greater China earlier this year, JLL has now turned its attention towards beefing up the firm’s Asia Pacific hospitality efforts. JLL Hotels & Hospitality revealed that David Lee-Young has been named Chief Operating Officer while also announcing two other promotions.
“It’s a real pleasure to be able to recognize the great talent we have within our team. These announcements underscore the firm’s commitment to providing our clients with the best and most extensive range of services possible,” Scott Hetherington, CEO Asia, Hotels & Hospitality Group, stated. “With the team’s help, we aim to strengthen our platform with greater emphasis placed on our clients’ transactional, advisory and consultancy needs.”
Lee-Young returns to JLL where he had previously spent 19 years serving as Executive General Counsel. He left the firm in 2008 to join Colonial First State Global Asset Management and was most recently acting as Consultant and General Counsel at LaSalle Investment Management. Lee-Young will be based in Sydney.
Aaron Desange has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Investment Sales where he will be responsible for hotel sales assignments throughout Asia focusing on Greater China. He had been leading JLL’s Greater China team, but will now take on an even greater role at the company. Desange has been with JLL for ten years handling more than $2 billion in hotel transactions throughout China, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia during his tenure.
Also promoted was Tom Sawayanagi who will now serve as International Director of JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group in Japan. He will lead the company’s Tokyo office overseeing advisory, investment sales and other related activities in the market.
