As we enter August Asia’s real estate community continues its search for the perfect job and Mingtiandi is here to share the news with you as a top exec at JLL India leaves the consultancy to join one of his former workmates, and a one-time CBRE director joins the board of a Hong Kong-listed developer. Fresh off of raising $500 million for its Greater China operation, WeWork is also making waves in the region, and there are more moves below if you just keep reading.
Mayank Saksena has joined Indian property consultant Anarock this month, taking the role of Managing Director of the company’s land division and head of residential services for South India, after previously serving as Managing Director of Land Services for JLL India. Sakasena’s new role will reunite him with his former JLL colleague, Anuj Puri, who had served as JLL’s India country head before buying out the consultancy’s residential division last year and forming Anarock.
Kam-Hung Yu has joined the board of Hong Kong-listed developer TFG International as an Executive Director with the Cayman-registered builder, according to an announcement to the stock exchange. Yu, who teamed with developer GuoZhongLiang Group to set up a consultancy and agency business in Hong Kong last year, still lists that role on his LinkedIn profile. The professional valuer also served for more than a decade with CBRE in Hong Kong where he headed the company’s valuations division.
Jennie Cho has been promoted to Associate Director of Real Estate with WeWork in Singapore. In her new role, Cho will serve as regional head of underwriting and analytics for the shared office giants operation in the Pacific region, including Southeast Asia and Korea. The step up comes just 11 months after Cho joined WeWork from M&G Real Estate as a Senior Associate, where she earlier served as a real estate analyst.
Bernice Cheung has joined the MTR Corporation in Hong Kong this month as a Property Development Surveyor. Cheung joins the operator of Hong Kong’s rail network from property consultancy Savills where she had served for more than four years, including most recently holding the role of Manager with the company’s commercial sales division. Cheung completed her Master’s Degree in Real Estate at the University of Hong Kong last year.
Ivy Sun has joined Continental AG in Shanghai as Senior Real Estate Manager for APAC with the German automotive supplier. Sun’s new role with the European firm comes just over a year and a half after the Shanghai University graduate joined CBRE as a Transaction Manager, before later being promoted to Senior Transaction Manager in April of this year. Sun also has experience with Honeywell and Colliers International.
Evangeline Wang has joined WeWork in Chengdu as an Account Executive with the $20 billion co-working titan. Wang’s new role gives her responsibility for sales in the Chengdu region for WeWork, after she spent nearly six years with JLL in the capital of Sichuan province, where she served most recently as an assistant manager in charge of office leasing for the property consultancy. The Chengdu University graduate also has experience with the Intercontinental Hotels Group.
