JLL has appointed Jordan Kostelac as its new Director of Proptech in Asia Pacific as the international property consultancy continues to carry the flag for technical innovation in real estate in the region.
“With proptech start-ups in Asia Pacific receiving US$4.8 billion of investments from 2013 to 2017, it is clear that the real estate industry presents tremendous potential to nurture innovation. There is no better time to embrace this digital transformation as proptech opportunities gain momentum across the region,” Albert Ovidi, Chief Operating Officer for JLL Asia Pacific said in an announcement of the newly created position.
The new role for Kostelac, comes three years after the former relocation specialist joined JLL as a member of its workplace strategy team where he advised the Fortune 500 firm’s clients on workplace optimisation, user experience and change management as part of the company’s Corporate Consulting division.

JLL has become a leading advocate for proptech in the region with the firm earlier this month unveiling a five finalists for its Propell Asia proptech accelerator program which is co-organised with Australian developer Lendlease.
Based in Hong Kong, will report to Ovidi, where he is tasked with assisting “internal and external stakeholders in pushing continuous innovation within and beyond the company,” according to the company’s statement. “With Jordan leading this initiative, we are confident that we can quickly anticipate and meet our clients’ needs by offering comprehensive and integrated solutions to help them maximise the value of their real estate assets,” Ovidi added.
Among Kostelac’s responsibilities will be leading the firm’s tech-based incubator programmes and showcases, as well as creating and deploying tech-enabled business models and products for clients.
