Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2015-12-14

It’s just about time to find out who’s been naughty or nice in 2015, and a few lucky souls in Greater China’s real estate community seem to have received plum new roles in time for the holidays. This week a veteran consultant finds a new home after 20 years, an Ivy leaguer jumps from a mainland developer to a property advisory firm, and much more. Read on for details.

simon baxterSimon Baxter has joined Colliers International as the company’s new head of Development & Asset Management for Asia. The veteran property consultant is a Regional Executive Director at Colliers after joining the team from EC Harris where he had been in charge of the built asset consultancy’s Singapore office. After spending more than 20 years at EC Harris, in his new role Baxter will focus on advising international clients regarding retail-led, mixed-use developments and other commercial development programmes.

gretchen yuanGretchen Yuan is now a Principal with Hodes Weill and Associates, based in Hong Kong. The graduate of Harvard University in the US and Tsinghua University in Beijing joins the boutique real estate advisory firm from mainland developer Country Garden Holdings, where she had served as Director in charge of development and investment in the vice chairman’s office.

robertjohnstonRobert Johnston has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as an Associate Director with the agency’s Office Services team. Johnston, who recently left a similar role with competitor Cushman & Wakefield in the city, will be responsible for helping clients with office leasing needs in the Kowloon area. The graduate of Liverpool John Moores University had been with Cushman & Wakefield since 2009, in both Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh City.

sunny hungSunny (Tzu Ching) Hung has joined fast-growing mainland real estate agency Lianjia as an Investor Relations Manager based in Shanghai. Hung took on her new role with the Beijing-based agency after spending more than two years with Savills, the graduate of the Cass Business School, real estate program at the University of London also has previous experience with Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai.
