This week Greater China’s community of real estate professionals sees a retail expert take his show to Hong Kong, a French resort operator stocks up on local talent after finding a Chinese investor, a Chinese investment giant builds up its Singapore team. Read on for all the details.
James Assersohn has joined JLL as a Director of Retail for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. At JLL the retail consultant’s duties will include advising international brands expanding into Asia, as well as assisting landlords with leasing management. Assersohn takes on his new role after spending more than five years with Cushman & Wakefield, most recently as Director of the company’s cross-border retail division, based in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Angie Wong has signed up with LaSalle Investment Management in Hong Kong as an Analyst with the investment management subsidiary of JLL. Wong’s new role comes after the graduate of the London School of Economics spent more than three years with DTZ in Hong Kong, where she joined as a graduate trainee in 2011 and became a member of the agency’s investment services department in 2012, serving most recently as a manager.
Jingjing Yuan has joined French resort operator Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs Group as a Real Estate Development Manager based in Shanghai. In her new role, Yuan will assist the firm’s Asia Development Officer and China CEO in developing new resorts in China and other locations in Asia. Pierre & Vacances this month announced a tie-up with HNA Tourism Group that will see the Chinese company take a 10 percent stake in the French operator of Center Parcs holiday resorts.
Joanna Wong King Yu has relocated to Singapore to join Fosun Property Holdings’ southeast Asian operations. Wong, who is a graduate of the National University of Singapore, joins the Shanghai-based investment giant after more than four years with CBRE in Hong Kong and Shanghai where she served most recently as a Manager in the company’s Valuation and Advisory Services department.
Aleen Wong has joined Retail Outlet Management Limited as a Leasing Manager based in Hong Kong. Retail Outlet Management is an affiliate of RDM Asia, which manages the Florentia Village chain of outlet malls in mainland China, and is directly responsible for the Tribeca Hong Kong Luxury Outlet in Kowloon. Before joining Retail Outlet Management, Wong was a Leasing Manager with Taubman Asia, the Asian subsidary of US-based retail REIT Taubman Centers.
