JLL has appointed Eugene Kim as a director of its Global Funds Advisory team, based in the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
In tandem with Kim’s hire, Georg Frauboes joins the team as a director based in London, as the US-based real estate consultancy aims to strengthen its prowess in capital raising and investment advisory.
The two executives will be responsible for underwriting investment deals and managing capital raising in their respective regions. Kim reports to Martijn van Eldik, Head of Funds Advisory in Asia Pacific, according to a statement by the NYSE-listed firm.
JLL Grows Builds Advisory Team
JLL created the Global Funds Advisory team last July by combining the company’s three existing regional funds advisory and placement teams. Matilde Attolico was appointed to lead the business in London and in October, JLL hired former Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing executive van Eldik to head up the team in Asia Pacific.
The Global Funds Advisory team works with investment managers around the world to support and advise on product development and capital raising for real estate investment opportunities. As one of the top three commercial real estate consultancies worldwide, JLL completed some $170 billion in investment sales, acquisitions and finance transactions last year.
“The creation of the team last year was driven in part by the recognition that the largest investors around the world demand more tailored solutions to meet their needs,” Attolico commented in the statement. “We’re delighted to have attracted talents like Georg and Eugene to join our growing team, enabling us to deliver this type of added value for our clients. It underscores our focus on bringing best in class products to market and delivering seamless execution.”
Growing Team Adds Asset Management Pros
Kim joins JLL from Brookfield Asset Management, where he most recently served as a senior associate in the product development group. In his role at the global alternative asset manager, Kim created investment vehicles and strategies across real estate, private equity and infrastructure. The University of Toronto alum has also worked in real estate investment banking in Brookfield’s global advisory business.
Frauboes joins the team in London from UBS Asset Management, where he underwrote real estate funds. He will work alongside Zeynep Fetvaci, who joined the group as a director last July.
“As we grow our credentials in fund underwriting, advising on product development and equity capital raising for indirect real estate transactions, I’m confident we are uniquely positioned to support clients across the full scope of their global real estate investment needs,” van Eldik said in the statement, adding that services include debt capital, corporate finance and M&A advisory.
