The world of valuations gets a bit of attention in this week’s collection of real estate professionals finding new roles around the region as JLL hires away a veteran valuer from rival Savills in Singapore. Sheds also figure into this week’s people moves as the deputy CEO of a Singaporean logistics operator decides to take some time off, and there more reports of brokers, advisors and consultants finding new professional homes waiting for you a bit further down the page.
Adam Slater is taking a sabbatical after stepping down from his role at Deputy CEO with Singaporean logistics firm CWT Ltd. Slater was cited in a Reuters account as saying that his departure from the HNA-owned firm is unrelated to reports that the mainland conglomerate is attempting to sell CWT after completing a $1 billion acquisition of the firm in December of last year. Slater had been with CWT in Singapore for more than six years.
Veteran valuer Lim Khee Boon is joining JLL in Singapore as Senior Director for Institutional and Cross-border Valuations for Southeast Asia at the property consultancy. In an announcement last week JLL revealed that Lim will be joining its team from Savills as the US-based firm seeks to increase its share of cross-border valuation work in Asia. Lim, who also has experience at CBRE will continue to be based in Singapore where he will report to JLL’s Singapore and Southeast Asia Managing Director Chris Fossick and APAC valuations chief CK Lau. Lim is expected to cooperate closely with JLL’s Singapore head of valuations Tan Keng Chiam.
Alvin Leung has been promoted to Director with the Capital Markets team at JLL in Hong Kong after just under one year with the investment services division at the property consultancy. Before becoming a building and floor broker with JLL, Leung had spent more than five years with the company’s Valuation and Advisory Services department. The University of Hong Kong graduate first joined JLL in 2012.
Joshua Daly has stepped up to Senior Director with the Markets team at JLL in Singapore. Following this most recent promotion, Daly will continue to advising corporate tenants on commercial leasing requirements in Asia Pacific, as he also serves as part of the company’s Corporate Solutions team. The Western Sydney University graduate has been with JLL since 2007 after first joining the property consultancy in Sydney.
Janice Zhang has joined Phoenix Property Investors in Shanghai as an Assistant Leasing Director with the real estate fund manager. Zhang takes on her new role with the Hong Kong-based real estate investment specialists after more than four years with CapitaLand in Shanghai where she served most recently as a Leasing Manager with the Singaporean developer. The graduate of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics also has prior experience with CBRE.
Claire Stephens Saeki has joined Gensler in Shanghai as Director of Strategy for Greater China with the US-based design firm. Stephens Saeki joins the designer of the Shanghai Tower and Hines’ One Museum Place project this month after three years with JLL in Shanghai. The graduate of Australian National University and Hong Kong University also has previous experience with manufacturer Johnson Controls in Shanghai.
