Cushman & Wakefield Hires Dennis Yeo as CEO for SE Asia

Dennis Yeo will be leaving the industrial world to run Cushman & Wakefield’s office in Singapore

Cushman & Wakefield has hired a veteran leader of local offices for CBRE and Colliers International to head the real estate consultancy’s Southeast Asia and Singapore operations, according to an announcement today by the company’s APAC chief, Matthew Bouw.

“I am delighted to welcome Dennis Yeo to @CushWake as Chief Executive, SG and SEA,” Bouw said via his Twitter account. He added that, “We are in an exciting growth phase & wanted a leader that not only has the experience & network but also the passion & drive to take our business forward. Looking fwd to working w Dennis. #goteam”

The announcement puts the 22-year veteran of Singapore’s property brokerage industry at the helm of what is now the third largest firm in the sector as the city’s commercial market goes back on the upswing as part of a region-wide boom.

Yeo replaces former Cushman managing director for Singapore Stephen Saul, who left the company earlier this year after having taken on the position in February 2016.

Leaving CBRE for C&W

Yeo, who has yet to comment publicly about his new role and had not responded to inquiries from Mingtiandi by the time of publication, will be taking the reins at Cushman & Wakefield in December, as he waits out his gardening leave with his current employer, CBRE, according to an account in Singapore’s Business Times.

At the green team, Yeo has served as managing director for the company’s industrial and logistics services division for Asia since joining in September 2015.

The graduate of National University of Singapore came to CBRE from Colliers International, where he was the head of the agency’s Singapore office after first joining the firm in 1993. Yeo left Colliers in 2015 some three months after David Hand became the Toronto-based firm’s chief executive for Asia Pacific. Yeo had served as Colliers’ interim CEO for Asia from the time of Piers Brunner’s departure from the company in 2014, until Hand was selected in 2015.
