We are squeezing out the last days of July, but there is still time for movers and shakers in the region’s real estate industry to find roles at new shops or get that bigger desk. This week our list features a Keppel careerist joining the board of a Singaporean trust manager, while a fund manager that looks for profit underground and on the beach manages to hire away a senior finance guy from a major US developer in Shanghai. Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management announced the appointment of Cindy Lim Joo Ling this month as a non-independent, non-executive director on the board of the trustee-manager of Keppel Infrastructure Trust. Lim took up her duties with the manager of the S$1.99 billion trust earlier this month in addition to her day job as the Managing Director of Keppel Urban Solutions, a role which she assumed in January of this year. The graduate of Nanyang Technological University has been with Keppel since 2001.
Kelvin Hsu joined LimeTree Capital Partners in Hong Kong this month as Chief Operating Officer with the boutique private equity real estate shop. After less than two years as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer with Tishman Speyer in Shanghai, Hsu will be taking a leadership role with LimeTree as it seeks to grow its investments in car park ownership and management as well as looking for beachfront land deals in emerging destinations. Before joining Tishman Speyer in 2016, Hsu also served as COO for Greater China with Goodman in Hong Kong and spent more than nine years with the industrial developer.
Shen Linan, formerly Deputy General Manager of developer Beijing Taihe, resigned from his position with the company earlier this month after serving with the firm for a decade. The graduate of Nanjing University has reportedly now joined Shenzhen-based Logan Property Holdings as a Vice President with the developer. At Taihe, Shen had been responsible most recently for the culture and cinema division of the company.
Giambattista Burdo has joined Gensler in Hong Kong as Retail Center Practice Area Leader with the US architecture firm. The retail design specialist came on board with Gensler this month after just over two years with competitor CallisonRTKL in Shanghai, where he had served as an Associate Vice President with responsibility for offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Manila, in addition to watching over the mainland financial hub.
Garrett Wang is now Openings Project Manager with WeWork in Shanghai, as the US shared office giant follows through on its acquisition of naked Hub earlier this year. Wang’s new role comes after the Ngee Ann Polytechnic graduate spent more than two years with naked Hub, joining in 2016 as a Community Manager, and serving most recently as Senior Operations Manager. WeWork acquired naked Hub in April in a transaction valued at $400 million.
Jon Smith joined CBRE in Guangzhou this month as a Manager with the property agency’s Advisory and Transaction Services division. In his new role in the capital of southern China’s Guangdong province, Smith will be advising clients on leasing office and retail space in the area after serving for more than four years with competitor Colliers International, where he served most recently as a Manager with the company’s Office Services division.
