With just a few days left before much of the region takes a long break for the lunar new year holiday, there are still a few Asia real estate professionals settling into fresh roles for 2020. This week Mingtiandi tracks a former Landsea Group finding a new home at a Chongqing-based developer, a European investment professional shifting to a new role in Singapore and more familiar faces in new places in other parts of the region. Former LandSea Group Co-President Wang Lei has taken on a new role as Vice President of Dowell Real Estate, a property development subsidiary of Shenzhen-listed Chongqing Dima Industry, according to local media reports. Wang had resigned from Landsea in August of last year where he had held responsibility for the company’s southwest China operations. The graduate of Shanghai’s Tongji University also has previous experience at Jingrui Holdings and Zhonghai Real Estate Group.
Alexander Hoffman has joined Swiss private equity firm Partners Group as an Investment Leader based in Singapore, according to an update to his LinkedIn profile. Hoffman joins the Zug-based fund manager after just one year as a Vice President with Allianz Real Estate, with the graduate of the European Business School Oestrich-Winkel also having spent six years with the Signa Group in Munich, as well as having experience with Fortress Investment Group and the now-departed Lehman Brothers.
Fu Jin Quek has been promoted to Associate Director with the investment team at Savills in Singapore, according to an update to his LinkedIn profile. Quek took the step up this month after just under three years with the UK-based brokerage firm. The graduate of Singapore Management University also has previous experience setting up his own consulting firm Assets Advisory Pte Ltd, after earlier stints with Standard Chartered Bank and UOB.
Fu Xiaozhou has taken a step up at Shanghai Lingang Songjiang Venture Capital Management in Shanghai as he was named Assistant General Manager with the state-run investment management firm last month. The graduate of the University of Glasgow takes on his new role after first joining the fund manager in December 2016. Fu also has previous experience as a representative with the Economic Commission of Shanghai’s Minhang district.
Joey Au has moved up to Assistant Manager with the Regional Investment Advisory team at Savills in Hong Kong, less than two years after joining the company as a Marketing Officer. The graduate of the University of Hong Kong also has previous experience as a Marketing Coordinator with Baker McKenzie in the city, following earlier engagements with law firm Sidley Austin and with JLL.
Eric Wu has rejoined the team at Cushman & Wakefield in Chongqing as a Senior Manager with the project management team in the largest city in southwest China. Wu re-enlisted with the property brokerage after just eight months with Beijing-based commercial developer Soho China in the city. The Chongqing Technology and Business University graduate had earlier spent nearly three years with C&W as a manager in the same department.
