The latest edition of Mingtiandi’s roundup of regional personnel moves features a boardroom change at mainland developer Beijing Capital Grand, and a new head of research at Singapore agency Edmund Tie. Also changing up their management is engineering consulting firm Cundall and Colliers International welcomes a top exec back to Singapore.
CBRE has added another Savills veteran to its investment team in Hong Kong, with Barry Chung having joined the property consultancy this month, according to an update to his LinkedIn profile. After spending nearly ten years with Savills, where he served most recently as a senior associate director, Chung is now director of private office and capital markets at CBRE. The investment broker takes up his new role shortly after his former Savills team-mate, Jonathan Chau became head of investment property and private office with the firm.
Mainland developer Beijing Capital Grand announced that Zhou Yue was appointed as a non-executive director, a member of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Strategic Investment Committee with effect from 16 October. He replaced Wang Honghui, who resigned from the above positions due to work reallocation. Zhou’s current position is deputy general manager of Sino-Ocean Capital and managing director of real estate investment business. He earlier worked for Temasek, HSBC and Bank of China, among others.
Jeremy Yew has been appointed as senior vice president for data centre facilities and operations at data centre services firm BDx , following his appointment as global head of critical facilities in April. He will take charge of strategically leading and executing operations for BDx’s portfolio of facilities in Asia. Yew has more than 15 years of experience in the data centre industry; before joining BDx he spent more than four years with ISS Facility Services, where he headed engineering and critical environment operations as well as major financial accounts.
In a homecoming of sorts, Abhishek Bajpai, a managing director with Colliers International’s corporate solutions team in Asia Pacific, has relocated to Singapore from the firm’s Hong Kong office, according to his LinkedIn profile. Bajpai has served in his current post since April 2019 and in Hong Kong since 2015, before which he spent 11 years in Singapore, including a stint at CBRE as account manager for global corporate services in Asia. His Colliers tenure dates back to 2006.
Engineering consultancy Cundall has announced the appointment of Julian Bott as APAC managing director. Bott has been with Cundall since 2005 and was instrumental in the establishment of the Hong Kong office in 2008. He is currently based in the Sydney office. In this newly created role, Bott will be responsible for overall business direction and developing Cundall’s presence in the Asia Pacific region.
In another key appointment, Cundall named Alex Saez as APAC operations director. Saez joined Cundall Madrid in 2011 as part of the MEP team and rejoined Cundall’s Singapore office in 2017. His experience includes projects in aviation, railway, critical systems, hospitals, industrial, workplace, hospitality, commercial, lifestyle and urbanism. In his new role he will assist Bott in developing the business across APAC and aligning business targets among the offices.
Singapore consultancy Edmund Tie has appointed 20-year research veteran Lam Chern Woon as its new senior director of research and consulting, according to an announcement by the company earlier this month. Lam, who joined Edmund Tie in June, will be working alongside CEO Ong Choon Fah and replaces Alice Tan, who joined Knight Frank as head of consultancy for Singapore in August of this year. Lam joined Edmund Tie from Japan’s MUFG Bank, where he spent more than three years as director of strategy and research, working both with clients and other divisions in the multinational lender.
