Core Capital Asia, the boutique real estate investment advisory firm founded by veteran broker Mark Suchy, has added some depth to its leadership with the appointment of Shanghai native Bunny Wang as Senior Director.
Wang will focus primarily on assisting clients with opportunities in the Shanghai market, according to a statement from the company, and will be working with both mainland Chinese and international investors advising on capital markets transactions, investment sales and acquisitions.
Wang’s appointment comes six months after Marc Bosnyak was named Director of Debt Advisory with the mainland firm last year, and is expected to give a boost to the team’s advisory expertise.
Veteran Brokers Reunited
Wang joins CCA from Knight Frank where she was based in the city with responsibility for both International Capital Markets and International Project Marketing across China for the UK-based consultancy from 2016 until her departure this year.
Before her time at Knight Frank, the graduate of Shanghai International Studies University spent thirteen years at Colliers, where she directed the company’s International Properties division and eventually became Director of PRC Institutional Client Services, assisting foreign developers in marketing assets in Canada, the UK and other locations to local Chinese buyers.
It will not be the first time that Wang has worked with Core Capital Asia founder Mark Suchy, who set up Core Capital Asia in 2016. The pair were at Colliers together for five years, prior to the CCA boss’s departure from the Toronto-based brokerage in 2009.
Local and International Experience
In a statement to Mingtiandi, Suchy praised Wang’s fifteen years’ experience working in international residential real estate, office leasing, and investment in Shanghai, Sydney and London.
“Bunny’s unique skill-set has helped her conclude a wide range of transactions and the development of the outbound investment service line for Knight Frank,” said the CCA managing director.
Suchy, who has advised on more than $2 billion worth of mainland and cross-border Chinese transactions, has built up a team of investment specialists at Core Capital since its inception in 2016, following what was a record year for investment deals in 2015.
Suchy established the company following a successful run with the investment teams at property services giants Cushman and Wakefield and CBRE in China. He was an early leader in facilitating Chinese outbound investments including Greenland Group’s acquisition of the $1 billion Metropolis project in Los Angeles as well as Greenland’s acquisitions in New York and Toronto.
With CCA’s past transactions including commercial property in Shanghai, New York and Los Angeles, the Shanghai-based firm provides advisory services for the mainland investment market, as well as facilitating cross-border real estate opportunities for Chinese companies investing overseas.
