Asia’s property industry is heading into the second week of January with a blizzard of job changes. Today’s roundup of people moves includes a real estate executive joining a Singapore-based realty firm, and a property investment veteran taking a new role at a Chinese financial institution. Hong Kong developers and international brokerages have also seen a number of hires and promotions, so read on for more details.
Dingding Zhou has joined the real estate investment team of Beijing-based investment bank China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC). Zhou joins the firm from private equity specialist LimeTree Capital Partners where he focussed on car park acquisitions as a Vice President with the private equity firm’s investment division. The Peking University graduate has also previously worked for Wanda Group, handling overseas real estate investment, and Beijing West Fund Management, and other firms in Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Catherine Ng is now Associate Division Director at Singaporean real estate agency PropNex Realty, where she specialises in marketing office and industrial properties, with responsibilities ranging from general sales and leasing to project consultancy. The 18-year industry veteran takes the role after serving as a Director at property agency Colliers International Singapore for nearly two years. Ng has also has experience with Knight Frank, Ascendas and Far East Organization.
Lowell Cheung has joined developer Hang Lung Properties as Head of Business Analytics, based in Hong Kong, after serving as Senior Manager, Business Planning for over three years. She previously worked as Business Development Manager at Wharf China Development Limited for nearly seven years, after a two-year stint as Senior Officer focussing on China property analysis at Sun Hung Kai Properties.
Nicola Tang has switched teams at CBRE, taking the role of Associate Director, Capital Markets in Hong Kong after previously working as Associate Director, Advisory & Transaction Services, Retail for nearly two years. The graduate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University first joined CBRE at the start of 2015 as Senior Manager, Retail Services after working in retail roles at rival agencies Cushman & Wakefield and then DTZ since 2012.
Desty Lai is now Assistant Director for Marketing at HKRI Taikoo Hui, a 322,000 square metre mixed-use complex developed by Swire Properties and HKRI on Shanghai’s West Nanjing Road. Lai was previously Marketing Director – East China Region at Hong Kong-based developer Nan Fung Group since mid-2011. He has also worked at Shanghai-based Shui On Land, in roles involving corporate development and marketing the firm’s Shanghai Xintiandi and Xintiandi Style properties.
Ronald Li has been promoted to Assistant Leasing Manager at Hong Kong’s Henderson Land Development, effective this month. Li is now mainly responsible for pre-leasing and brand management for H Queen’s, a 24-storey tower featuring art galleries and restaurants at 80 Queen’s Road Central in Hong Kong, as well as pre-leasing and neighbourhood development for Square Mile, a retail property in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon. Li joined Henderson in late 2014 as Leasing Officer and was since promoted to Senior Leasing Officer in September 2016.
Jenibelle Chan will be recruiting property professionals in her new position as Regional Talent Acquisition Specialist (Corporate Solutions) at JLL in Singapore this month. Before joining the property brokerage, Chan worked as Recruitment Consultant at Macdonald & Company, a real estate recruitment firm, and as Senior Business Development Manager at serviced office provider CEO Suite. Chan also headed up the Entertainment department at Oceanic Group, the manager of China’s first luxury cruise ship, after embarking on a real estate career by joining Knight Frank in 2007.
