George Wong, executive chairman of Hong Kong property firm The Parkview Group, has died in his sleep at age 65. Ranked by Forbes as Hong Kong’s 43rd richest man in 2013, with a net worth of $1.1 billion, Wong was the eldest son of developer CS Hwang, who founded Chyau Fwu Group in Taiwan. Born in Hong Kong, Wong grew up in Taiwan and became chairman of his father’s conglomerate in 2003. The leading art collector opened a private museum in his company’s Parkview Square office building in Singapore. Wong and his three brothers sold a controlling stake in The Parkview Group to mainland state-owned giant Cofco in 2012.
Eva Tsui has been promoted this month to Associate Director at Mapletree in Shanghai, where she has served as Assistant Associate Director, Marketing & Leasing, Asset Management since May 2014. The Singapore-based real estate development and investment firm owns and manages over $29 billion of assets across a wide spectrum of property types and manages four Singapore-listed REITs as well as six private real estate funds. The company’s properties in China include integrated business hub Mapletree Business City Shanghai and VivoCity Shanghai.
Ethan Li has left China’s largest commercial developer to take a job as Associate Director at real estate brokerage Colliers International, based in Shenyang. The property management pro worked for Dalian Wanda Group for nearly three years, holding the title of Deputy General Manager for a Wanda property before taking the role of Regional Vice President of Engineering. The graduate of the Changchun College of Engineering previously served as a manager at property consultancy JLL, after an initial two-year stint at Wanda.
Lisa Gamreklidze has joined global branding and design firm Eight Partnership this month as Managing Director, Clients. Based in Hong Kong, Gamreklidze will be driving the real estate and architecture branding division of Eight Property, assisting real estate and hospitality clients globally in strategic branding and design initiatives. Prior to joining Eight Partnership, the trained designer held leadership positions at management consulting firm Prophet, digital design agency Razorfish (Publicis Groupe), and experiential marketing consultancy Imagination in Asia, after starting her career in London.
Bryant Tan has hopped on board fast-growing Singaporean corporate real estate services firm OrangeTee to take the role of Associate Group Director. Tan joins the company this month after leaving Huttons Real Estate Group, where he served as Senior Associate Marketing Director for nearly four and a half years in Singapore, assisting clients to buy, sell and lease their residential and commercial properties. Before jumping into the real estate business, the trained electrical engineer worked in the sales division of STMicroelectronics.
Surachet Kongcheep has joined Chinese residential developer Country Garden Holdings as Marketing Research and Positioning Director, after working at Colliers International Thailand for nearly a decade. In a series of roles at the international property agency, most recently Associate Director, Kongcheep delivered market research and reporting on all real estate sectors in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. The research expert started his career as a senior property analyst at Pasupat Realty Co.
Erwan F P Roger has joined Arvinna Lands as Investments Director, based in Shanghai. In his new role at the French real estate agency, Roger supports companies that are looking for new office premises in China or engaging in development, investment and leasing in France. He previously worked as a corporate account manager at Asian Express International Movers, a Hong Kong-based relocation company for nearly three years, where he was responsible for business development in Shanghai. The MBA holder has also worked for Asia Asset Property Services and CTM Debrie.
