Maybe the thought of all those holiday shoppers was too much for them, but this week’s barrage of people moves leads off with a trio of retail real estate veterans. Also showing up in new places with new namecards are a hotel analyst and more. Read on for all the details.
Sebastian Skiff is off in search of new adventures after leaving his role as an Executive Director at Colliers International in Hong Kong. Skiff, who was in charge of retail development and asset management in Asia for the property consultancy, has kept mum about his next perch, but it seems to be taking him awayfrom his long-time home on Hong Kong’s Lantau Island, as the Zimbabwe native packs up shop. The thirty year veteran of Asia’s real estate trade has spent nearly all of his career in Hong Kong and Seoul, including stints with CBRE, Jones Lang Wooton (now JLL), Cushman & Wakefield and Ralph Lauren before joining Colliers in November last year.
Another retail real estate expert is on the move, with Scott Keller having traded in cosmetics for coffee mugs. The veteran corporate real estate executive has rejoined Starbucks in Hong Kong as Senior Vice President for Store Development & Design in Asia Pacific. Keller takes on his new role after spending the previous two years as Vice President of Retail for Asia Pacific at Estee Lauder. During his 20 year retail real estate career, Keller has served in various senior property roles with Apple and Nike.
Annie Houn has joined Knight Frank as Senior Director and Head of Landlord Project Services China at Knight Frank. Houn will continue to be based in Shanghai for her new role, after spending more than seven years with Colliers International in the city, most recently as a National Director with the agency’s retail team. Houn is the latest senior level team member from Colliers Shanghai to join Knight Frank since former Colliers executive Piers Brunner took the helm of Knight Frank for Greater China in October last year.
Shirley Kong has signed up with Starwood Capital as an Associate with the Acquisitions team, based in Hong Kong. Kong takes on her new role with the US hospitality-focused private equity firm after spending three years with Gaw Capital in the city. The Cornell University graduate also has experience with financial advisory firm Horwath while achieving her Master of Management in Hospitality degree from the US university.
Sha Bao has jumped to CBRE in Shenzhen, where she will serve as a Senior Analyst at the commercial real estate agency. Sha, who holds a Master’s Degree in real estate from Reading University in the United Kingdom, takes on her new role after spending just under two years at DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield in Shenzhen, where she had served most recently as a Senior Analyst providing development consultancy services.
As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
