The evolution of Greater China’s real estate investment trusts takes centre stage on MTD TV on Tuesday, 26 July with a panel discussion which brings the chief executive of one of the region’s newest REITs together with a veteran valuer and an attorney experienced in establishing the listed vehicles.
The Greater China REIT Opportunities panel is the second session in Mingtiandi’ Asia REIT Forum 2022, and features Hubert Chak, chief executive officer of Hong Kong-listed SF REIT, Andrew Chan, managing director and head of valuation and advisory services for Greater China at Cushman & Wakefield and Jeremy Ong a partner at Baker McKenzie, in a one-hour session which is brought to you by Yardi.
You may register for the session, which takes place at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time on Tuesday, by clicking on the link above.
During the discussion, the panelists will explore the outlook for listed trusts of income-earning real estate assets in Hong Kong and mainland China, while also looking at the impact of the recent kick-off of REITs listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen, as well as potential opportunities to pick up assets as debt issues roil developers in the region.
REIT Show Continues
The Greater China REIT panel follows last week’s spotlight interview with Link REIT chief executive George Hongchoy, which has already attracted more than 500 viewers.
During Tuesday’s panel, SF REIT’s Chak will discuss his experience in leading Greater China’s first listed trust focused on logistics properties, while also sharing how the vehicle allows SF Express, the sponsor of the trust, to focus on its core business of delivering packages.
Joining Chak on MTD TV’s virtual stage, C&W’s Chan leads his firm’s valuation and advisory services for developers and investors establishing listed trusts on exchanges throughout Greater China, while also assisting with mergers and acquisitions, securitisation and other transactions.
Baker McKenzie’s Ong advised Chak and SF REIT on arranging their $334 million IPO last year, and has assisted on multiple real estate trusts in the region.
Data Centres and Singapore Up Next
Following the Greater China REIT panel, MTD TV will return in September with our third annual APAC Data Centre Forum. That six-part series includes sessions on hyperscale networks and on sustainable data centres, as well as dedicated panels on the Greater China market, Japan and Korea.
In October, Mingtiandi will hit the road for our Singapore Focus Forum 2022, a full day event on-site in the Lion City, which will also be carried on MTD TV.
The Singapore forum will be led by a keynote interview with Warburg Pincus head of Southeast Asia and head of Asia Pacific real estate Jeffrey Perlman, and will also feature Blackstone managing director Peng Wei Tan, Terence Teo of TE Capital, as well as speakers from JLL, Cushman & Wakefield and SDAX Minterest.
