Mingtiandi’s fifth annual data centre forum kicks off next week with the online programme including a special spotlight interview session with Princeton Digital Group chairman, CEO and co-founder Rangu Salgame after the Singapore-based firm last month announced a 500MW regional expansion programme.
Salgame will appear in a special edition of MTD TV on Wednesday 9 October together with Jonathan Atkin a managing director from RBC Capital Markets to discuss the company’s plans for expanding its platform in Malaysia, India and Indonesia as it builds out its six-nation APAC network.
The interview is the second session in a five-part series sponsored by Yardi which will also feature a spotlight chat with Serene Nah, managing director and head of Asia Pacific for Digital Realty on Tuesday, 15 October.
The Mingtiandi APAC Data Centre Forum will also feature panel discussions on the hyperscale market, Southeast Asia and opportunities in Japan and Korea, with speakers from Equinix, STT GDC and ESR lending their insights. The forum is free to view and you can register via the link above.
Data Centres Dominate
Data centre investments have dominated the news in recent weeks, led by Blackstone and CPPIB buying out AirTrunk for $16 billion in Asia Pacific’s largest real estate transaction so far this year.
With digital infrastructure having moved from niche play to mainstream, Mingtiandi has organised a panel on Asia Pacific’s hyperscale market to kick off the data centre forum on Tuesday, 8 October at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time.
The hyperscale panel features Michael Tanujaya, head of investments and strategy with ST Telemedia Global Data Centres; Jing Zhou, senior director for alternatives and strategic transactions with Nuveen; Bernie Devine, senior regional director for Asia Pacific with Yardi and Baker McKenzie partner Edwin Wong, in a look at opportunities in serving the largest data centre users.
The first week of the forum wraps up at 10:00 AM on Thursday, 10 October with a panel on data centre investment in Southeast Asia. That session features Woon Teng Koh, director of corporate development with Equinix and Ai Leen Tang a Malaysia-based partner with Baker McKenzie member firm Wong & Partners; for a look at Asia’s fastest growing region for data centre development, with additional speakers to be named in the coming days.
Digital Realty, Japan and Korea
The second week of the forum starts out on Tuesday, 15 October with the spotlight interview session with Serene Nah of Digital Realty, whose company started work on a 31MW Greater Tokyo area data centre in May on its way to adding a third facility to that Japanese campus.
The East Asia theme continues in the final session of the forum on Thursday, 17 October when Mingtiandi’s guests take a look at challenges and opportunities in the Japan and Korea markets.
Joining that panel at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time will welcome Phillipa Weber, director of business development for the IDC division at Gaw Capital Partners; Diarmid Massey, chief executive for data centres with ESR and Jingwen Ong, Asia Pacific research manager with data centre market intelligence provider DC Byte.
