One of China’s biggest real estate investment events will kick off in Shanghai on Wednesday this week with a workshop on real estate financing led by Mingtiandi founder Michael Cole.
The 5th annual PERE China Forum will bring together leading private equity real estate investors and fund managers from companies including Anbang Insurance, Ping An Insurance, Link REIT, Brookfield, Invesco Real Estate, Blackstone, and Tishman Speyer. The two day event will include sessions on all aspects of real estate investment in China, including Chinese outbound investment, distressed assets, and opportunities in emerging cities.
Leading off the first day of the conference will be a limited admittance workshop on debt financing for real estate projects in China, led by Mingtiandi, and featuring Marc Bosnyak of Standard Chartered Bank, Avery Colcord of West Lake Advisors, Charles Lam of Baring Private Equity Asia and Ben Wang of Country Garden Asset Management.
The debt financing workshop will examine available options in debt financing on the mainland, gauge local and international investor appetite for real estate debt, and explore distressed and non-performing loan strategies in China.
The conference as a whole, which takes place on May 25th and 26th at the Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai, is expected to welcome more than 180 real estate investment executives, and is organised by UK-based media firm Private Equity International.
