Asia Proptech Survey to Kick Off Next Week

2021/07/05 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Asia Proptech SurveyAsia’s most comprehensive study of tech adoption in the real estate industry gets under way next week as Mingtiandi and Yardi launch a survey of over 10,000 industry professionals in the region.

A confidential questionnaire will be delivered to Mingtiandi subscribers starting on 14 July, asking them to share both their attitudes on innovation in the region’s property sector and what types of technology their companies are using or planning to use to conduct their business.

The survey will form the core of a report on property technology use to be published by Mingtiandi and Yardi in November of this year, as the third such study by Mingtiandi and Yardi documenting the progress that Asia’s real estate industry has made toward tech adoption since the first study in 2017, as well as mapping out the challenges that lie ahead.

Tech for Sustainability and Wellness

The survey, which launches on 13 July will be open for responses until 30 July and will ask participants to answer 40 questions about their use of technology and their perception of the status of the industry in the region as well as in their community.

Last year’s study, “Tech Adoption in Asian Real Estate: the Pandemic Drives Innovation” measured the extent to which the disruption wrought by COVID-19, and this year’s survey will ask many of the same questions, to gauge the changes that have been made since the coronavirus first made its presence felt 18 months ago.

Also among the topics to be explored this year will be the ways in which companies are using technology to reshape their real estate portfolios, in particular with regard to meeting sustainability targets and allowing occupiers to ensure the well-being of their team members.

Other areas to be explored in the study will be the adoption of cloud-based systems, implementation of artificial intelligence and deployment of big data systems.

Forum on the Way in November

The report to be developed from this year’s survey will form the basis for a special MTD TV program on 16 November of this year, where the key findings of the study will be shared as part of our Asia Proptech Forum.

The November event series, which will also include a panel discussion on 23 November, follows the success of the inaugural MTD TV Proptech Forum in January this year, which attracted an audience of over 1,300 viewers.
