Apple continued its rapid expansion into China’s retail sector by announcing last week the opening of its third outlet in Shanghai.
In a statement from Ron Johnson, the company’s senior vice president of retail operations that was reported in the People’s Daily, the US computer and portable device maker announced that the company’s next China store will be located in the new Henderson Metropolitan building on Nanjing Road.
With an average daily customer flow of 40,000 people, the four stores in China have both the largest flow of customers and the highest revenue in the world.
(Please note that the People’s Daily story mistakenly states that Apple currently has one store in Shanghai. The company currently operates one store each in Pudong and Puxi).
