Asia Real Estate People in the News 2018-06-18

As we reach mid-June much of the region is celebrating with dumplings and boat races, while many members of the real estate community seem to marking the occasion by grabbing a new job. This week we see a Swiss bank appoint a new head of real estate, a veteran retail manager joins the world of fund management and a serviced office veteran joins a major brokerage. Read on for all the details on who just landed the role that you always wanted.

Yvonne Voon Credit SuisseYvonne Voon has been promoted to head of Southeast Asia real estate for the investment banking and capital markets divisions of Credit Suisse, based in Singapore, according to an announcement by the company last week. The new role for the 12-year veteran of the investment bank comes after Voon spent the last three years as a director of equity sales for Credit Suisse, based in their London office. The University of Melbourne graduate also has experience in equity research with both Credit Suisse and JP Morgan.

hsiang-yun chuHsiang-yun Chu has joined Five Bulls Fund in Shanghai as a Managing Director with the mainland private equity firm. The Taiwan native started in his new role this month, where he will be responsible for leasing and asset management for commercial, industrial and residential property assets owned by the top ten mainland real estate fund manager. Before taking up this latest challenge Chu had served with the Luen Mei Group, Shanghai Dream Center and CBRE in Shanghai.

Wendy lam cbreWendy Lam has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as a Director with the property agency’s Advisory & Transaction Services team. In her new role the former Corporate Director for Global Account Management with serviced office provider The Executive Centre will be focusing in providing transaction management and real estate consultancy to corporate clients across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining CBRE, Lam had spent 13 years with The Executive Centre.

angela wuAngela Wu has joined Mapletree in Shanghai as an Associate Director with the Singaporean real estate investment firm. Wu took up her new duties last month after spending the past three and a half years with Nan Fung China, the mainland branch of the family owned Hong Kong developer, where she served as Senior Manager for Business Development. The graduate of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics also has previous experience with CBRE.

xintao linXintao Lin has joined Perennial Real Estate Holdings in Singapore as an Executive with the developer’s regional Investment and Asset Management team. Lin started his new job this month after completing a Master’s degree in Urban Planning at the National University of Singapore, where he also achieved his Bachelor’s degree in 2017. Prior to joining Perennial, Lin also had experience as a valuation intern with Cushman & Wakefield.

laurie liuLaurie Liu has joined JLL in Xi’an as a Senior Manager with the property consultancy’s Markets team. Liu started his new role with JLL in the northwestern China city after spending the previous year as a Manager with the Industrial and Commercial team with Shanghai-based Greenland Group in Xi’an. The graduate of Xi’an International Studies University also has previous experience with JLL where he spent more than two years before leaving as a senior consultant in 2017.
