Senior hires at Lendlease and Blackstone lead Mingtiandi’s roundup of personnel moves from around the region this week, as the Australian developer finds a new head of data centres, and the US private equity firm adds to its credit division. There are also top level moves at Kerry Properties, Vanke Overseas and more.

Sunita BottseLendlease said on 30 May that it has appointed Sunita Bottse as its new head of data centres, based in Singapore. Reporting to Andrew Gauci, head of telecoms and data infrastructure for Asia, Bottse will now be in charge of the company’s $1 billion Lendlease Data Centre Partners joint venture, under which it is currently developing a 120MW facility in Japan. Before joining Lendlease, Bottse had served as chief executive of Supernap (Thailand), which developed the first carrier-neutral hyperscale facility in the Kingdom.

Blackstone has hired former Anchorage Capital Group managing director Mark Glengarry as a head of Asia Pacific origination for its Blackstone Credit division, according to an announcement on 30 May. Glengarry joined the private equity giant as a senior managing director last month after seven years with Anchorage Capital in both London and Sydney. Glengarry will be based in Sydney and will report to Blackstone Credit’s APAC chief Paulo Eapen.

Dennis Au Hing LunKerry Properties announced on 24 May that former Chinachem executive Dennis Au Hing Lun has been appointed as an executive director on its board, as well as given the title of deputy chief executive, effective that same day. Now 62, Au last month resigned as managing director of real estate at Chinachem Group as well as leaving his post as a nonexecutive director at Chinachem-affiliate ENM Holdings. Previously, he had also held various positions at Wing Tai Properties including CFO.

Lee Kai YanVanke Overseas Investment Holding announced on 23 May that Lee Kai-Yan had stepped down as an executive director of the company to devote more time to other business commitments. Lee had been with the company for roughly 13 years at the time of his resignation. Replacing Lee on the board on the same date was Ding Changfeng, CEO of the hotels and resorts business unit of Vanke Overseas controlling shareholder, China Vanke. Ding has been a vice president of China Vanke since 2001 and had served as general manager of Shanghai Vanke since January 2020.

Koo Chung Chong - CSC HoldingsOn 26 May, CSC Holdings named Koo Chung Chong deputy CEO of CSC Group, which comprises the Singaporean construction engineering company and its subsidiaries. Koo has been the group’s COO since June 2016 and with the latest appointment, his responsibilities will include overseeing marketing, operational and sustainability matters of the company. He has been with the group for almost 26 years and as of the announcement date, Koo also holds directorships at 22 other companies including CS Real Estate Investments.

Kwee Wei-LinHong Kong-listed ESR Cayman said on 25 May that it has appointed Wei-Lin Kwee as an independent non-executive director on its board, effective the same day. The 46-year-old Brown University graduate is the head of hotels at private real estate company Pontiac Land Group and also the incumbent president of the Singapore Hotel Association. Since April 2021, she has been a member of the Singapore government’s Future Economy Council and of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry since March this year.

Wu Sung SungPrime US REIT’s manager, KBS US Prime Property Management, announced on 20 May the appointment of Janice Wu Sung Sung as a non-independent and non-executive director of the Singapore-listed trust. Wu, aged 52, has been with Singapore Press Holdings for more than 24 years at the time of the appointment, holding the executive vice president for corporate development role since January 2016, according to her LinkedIn profile. Since June 2020, Wu has also been the chairperson of Memphis 1 Pte Ltd, Singapore Press Holdings’ data center joint venture with Keppel Corporation.

Neil Zhang HongbinNeil Zhang Hongbin took on a new role as director for investment at Chinese conglomerate Fosun International in Hong Kong this month, after more than two years as partner for alternative investment at China Vanke in Shenzhen. Zhang joined China Vanke in April 2020 after spending a nearly four-year stint at Colliers International, where he was assistant manager for capital markets and investment services.
