Asia Real Estate People in the News 2017-05-15

More moves are afoot in Asia’s real estate sector this week as top five developer Country Garden loses another senior decision-maker, and a pair of former regional leaders with C&W find new homes in the industry. Read on for all the details on who might be giving you a new name card at the next meeting.

zhu-rongbinZhu Rongbin has resigned from his posts as Executive Director, Co-President and executive committee member with top five mainland developer Country Garden, according to a statement last week by the Hong Kong-listed company. Zhu’s departure comes four months after Country Garden CFO Wu Jianbin left the company. Zhu is scheduled to hand over his duties on June 1st with the company saying that the executive, who has been with Country Garden since 2013, wanted to spend more time with his family. Prior to joining the Guangzhou-based developer, Zhu had experience with China Overseas Land & Investment, and Guangzhou R&F Properties.

sanjay vermaSanjay Verma has joined G4S as Regional President for Secure Solutions for the Asia Pacific division of the London-based integrated security company. The former Asia Pacific CEO of property consultancy Cushman & Wakefield takes on his new duties with the London stock exchange-listed service provider after leaving C&W in March of 2016. During the last year Verma has also become active in a number of high tech startups, including becoming an advisory board member for Singapore-based online leasing platform FlySpaces, according to Verma’s LinkedIn profile.

theo knipfingTheodore Knipfing has joined Husband Retail Consulting in Hong Kong as Chief Operating Officer with the specialist retail consultancy. In his new role, Knipfing will assume management of day-to-day operations for the boutique retail real estate advisory and brokerage firm, according to a statement from the company. The retail real estate veteran took on his new duties at the beginning of this month after previously serving more than three years with Cushman & Wakefield, most recently as Head of Retail for Asia Pacific. Knipfing also has previous experience with Apple’s real estate division.

leo yeungLeo Yeung is now Chief Executive Officer with Maisson Commercial Property in Hong Kong. The former Vice President for Commercial Property Operation with Vanke SCP Group starts his new duties after serving with the Shenzhen-based retail real estate firm for just over one year. Equipped with a PhD in International Business from the University of South Australia, Yeung also has previous experience with Beijing Luneng Group, Shenzhen Galaxy Commercial Property and Shanghai Rockbund.

Dorise Feng has joined the Business Development team at Keppel Land in Shanghai as a Senior Manager. The graduate of Shanghai’s Fudan University and the National University of Singapore is, taking on new responsibilities at the development branch of Singapore’s Keppel Group after serving more than four years as a Senior Manager with the company’s Asset Performance Management division. Feng also has previous experience with Gaw Capital and JLL.

coco wuCoco Wu has joined naked Group in Shanghai as a Business Development Manager with the parent company of flexible office provider naked Hub. Wu assumed her new duties with the Shanghai-based firm after nearly five years with real estate agency CBRE, where she served most recently as a Transaction Manager. The graduate of the University of Birmingham in the UK and Hunan University in China had originally joined CBRE as a graduate analyst.
