Ada Fung will now take charge of one of CBRE’s core businesses in Hong Kong

CBRE on Tuesday announced the promotion of Ada Fung to head of office services within its advisory and transaction services division in Hong Kong, with immediate effect.

In her new role, Fung will oversee the office services team and the workplace strategy and transaction management businesses, the property consultancy said in a release. Fung is also an executive director, and she was appointed to the Hong Kong executive committee as part of her promotion.

“With this appointment, we strive to demonstrate our dedication to grooming our own leaders from within, as well as supporting diversity in leadership,” said Tom Gaffney, regional managing director of CBRE Hong Kong. “Ada has been consistently delivering exceptional values to our clients with her strong business acumen in the real estate industry and has been a key contributor to our business development. We are grateful for her commitment to stepping up to this leadership role.”

Pitching In for the Team

Since joining CBRE in 2011, Fung has held various senior positions across business lines and sales platforms. She started in project management before transitioning to lead Greater China sales management in 2016. She was named head of sales management and pitch management for Greater China in 2019.

Fung is also an advocate for diversity and inclusion, having chaired the CBRE Women’s Network from 2014 to 2016 to promote gender equality and women in leadership in the real estate industry.

Prior to joining CBRE, Fung spent five years as a senior manager at JLL. Before that, she worked in sales and marketing and as a town planner. The University College London grad holds a bachelor’s degree in town planning and a master’s degree in urban design, as well as a Bachelor of Laws from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Rigg Shifts to Platform Role

Fung succeeds Oliver Rigg, who has been appointed to a new role as head of CBRE’s broker operating platform for North Asia.

Equipped with his new name cards, Rigg will work closely with market leaders across the region to drive improved performance in the top cities and to provide tools for CBRE professionals via the new platform, the agency said.

A graduate of the University of the West of England in Bristol, Rigg also holds a master’s degree in property valuation and law from Cass Business School in London. After joining CBRE in 2009 as a negotiator, he rose to become head of office services in Hong Kong in 2014 and head of advisory and transaction services in Hong Kong in 2017.

Gaffney thanked Rigg for his “outstanding performance” leading the advisory and transaction business in Hong Kong for the past three years.

“Under his leadership, the team has risen to new levels, setting new standards in the industry,” the managing director said. “I wish Oli and Ada every success and look forward to working with them as we continue to drive exceptional value for our clients.”
