China Real Estate People in the News 2015-02-09

No need to wait around for Spring Festival and that extra month’s pay – China’s real estate professionals are changing jobs as quickly as ever this week. A senior warehouse guy has joined an Aussie bank, another industrial veteran has moved into private equity, and more. Read on for details.

liaokuo dingLiaokuo Ding has joined Macquarie Group as a Senior Vice President in Beijing. The logistics real estate investment expert joins Macquarie from Gome Warehousing and Logistics Investment where he had spent more than two years as Deputy General Manager. Ding also has experience with logistics developers GLP and Prologis, and holds an MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business.

Calvin See has been promoted to Head of Business Development for Beijing, Dalian and Northern China at Swire Properties. See’s new role comes after the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) MBA holder spent the last five years with Swire’s portfolio management team in Beijing and Chengdu, most recently as Assistant Director for Portfolio Management. See is a member of the RICS and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

sean zhangSean Zhang has joined Chinese private equity firm CURA as an Associate Director with their CURA Fund based in Shanghai. Zhang, who holds a Master of Economics degree from Fudan University, comes to the fund manager founded by some of China’s biggest property developers after spending just over three years with Ascendas, most recently as Fund Management and Investment Manager for the Singaporean real estate investment firm.

olivia tsangOlivia Tsang has been promoted to Property Development Surveyor at Nan Fung Development in Hong Kong. The University of Hong Kong graduate has been at Nan Fung for more than one year now after previously serving with Jones Lang LaSalle in their valuations department in Hong Kong. Tsang also has experience with the Hong Kong Lands Department, Knight Frank and Sun Hung Kai Properties.

sharon chanSharon Chan is now a Valuation Surveyor with the Rating and Valuation Department of the Hong Kong government. Chan started her new role this month after spending just less than two years with the city government where she previously served as a Project Surveyor with the Lands Department. Before joining the government, the University of Hong Kong graduate was with Ernst & Young as a consultant, and also spent time with JLL.

eason yangEason Yang has joined CBRE in Shanghai as a Manager with their office services division. Yang came to the US-based real estate agency from competitor DTZ where he spent just under a year as a Manager with their occupier services department. The Shanghai International Studies University also has experience with Knight Frank, where he spent just over a year as a Property Consultant with the UK-based firm.

alan chanAlan Chan has been promoted to Assistant Manager with the Corporate Solutions department at Colliers International. Based in Hong Kong, the graduate of the Schulich School of Business at York University in Canada, has now been with Colliers for more than two years. Prior to joining the real estate services firm, Chan had worked with TDR Enterprises in Canada and interned with Manulife in Hong Kong.
