Asia Real Estate People in the News 2021-01-18

2021/01/18 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

Leading this week’s roundup of personnel changes in Asia’s real estate community is a director shift at Logan Group, a Shenzhen-based developer which has been expanding its operations into Hong Kong. Also making some leadership changes is India’s Lodha Group, which added a former executive from competitor Embassy Group as it builds an industrial team, and a US law firm has added a new real estate partner in Tokyo.

zhong huihong LoganShenzhen developer Logan Group welcomed a new member to its board this month with Zhong Huihong joining the company’s top decision-making body as an executive director, according to an announcement to the Hong Kong exchange. Zhong, who takes over a spot vacated by Wu Jian, who left the board on 31 December, has been with Logan since 2018 when he joined the company as a vice president. Prior to joining Logan, Zhong had served as chief operating officer of Hong Kong-listed developer Top Spring International Holdings.

ramit chopra LodhaIndia’s Lodha Group is moving to upgrade its industrial real estate efforts with the developer announcing last week that it has named Ramit Chopra as head of business development and leasing for its industrial and logistics park division. Chopra joined India’s largest residential developer late last year after having earlier served as national head of leasing for Embassy Industrial Parks, a joint venture between Embassy Group and Warburg Pincus for two years.

Miami-based law firm Greenberg Traurig announced last week that Mori Inada has joined its Asia real estate practice in Japan. Mori, who has over 15 years of experience advising on real estate investment deals, is now a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Tokyo office, after having earlier been a partner with competitor Morrison & Foerster. “Mori’s significant experience advising institutional lenders and funds perfectly complements our work in Asia,” Greenberg Traurig’s Asia real estate chair Joel H. Rothstein said in a statement.

bernard lim PDGData centre specialist Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has brought on board Bernard Lim as commercial manager with its team, based in Singapore. Lim joined the Warburg Pincus-backed firm this month after spending over a half year as a consultant with telecom consulting firm Airov8. Earlier, the National University of Singapore graduate had spent more than five years as legal commercial and contract manager with Tata Communications.

janelle wong 8mJanelle Wong has been promoted to director of asset management with real estate investment specialist 8M in Singapore. In her new role Wong oversees asset management, leasing and facilities management as she takes a step up after serving as head of asset management for one year. The National University of Singapore graduate has now been with 8M for nearly six years, and also has previous experience with JLL.

jon abel savillsJon Abel is now working on corporate development for Asia Pacific at Savills in Hong Kong, where he is part of a team working with the property consultancy’s chief financial and chief operating officers, according to an update to his LinkedIn profile. Abel’s new position comes after the experienced management consultant completed a contract role with the firm where he was involved in a finance transformation program to overhaul business processes.
