China Real Estate People in the News 2015-04-06

2015/04/06 by Michael Cole Leave a Comment

This week appears to be promotion week in Asia Pacific for one of the big commercial agencies, with a squadron of senior team members moving up a notch, and even some new faces joining. Elsewhere we have a Hong Kong broker jumping to the client side, and more. Read on for more details.

sailing koSailing Gao has joined The Redwood Group as Business Development Director based in Foshan, Guangdong province. Gao, who previously was the General Manager of Colliers International in Foshan, will be responsible for business development, leasing and acquisition with the Singapore-based logistics real estate investor and operator. Gao has more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience with Colliers in both Guangzhou and Foshan, and is the latest in a series of senior level hires by Redwood.

oliver riggOliver Rigg has been promoted to Director of Office Services at CBRE in Hong Kong. In his new role the six year veteran of the US based real estate agency manages teams of brokers both on Hong Kong island and in Kowloon, covering both tenant and landlord representation requirements. The University of the West of England graduate originally joined the firm as a Negotiator in 2009 and most recently was an Associate Director.

cynthia ngCynthia Ng has moved up to the role of Director with the Retail Services team at CBRE in Hong Kong. Ng’s latest promotion comes less than five years after she joined the property agency in 2010 as an Associate Director. Prior to joining CBRE, the University of Technology, Sydney graduate worked as a Regional Lease Management Manager for Retail at Australian property group Stockland in Sydney.

ming tamMing Tam has joined HSBC in Hong Kong as a Corporate Real Estate Manager with the global banking group. The new role is a change to the client side for Tam who previously spent just over two years with Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong as a portfolio manager working with their corporate clients. Prior to joining C&W the University of Hong Kong graduate also spent four years with the airports authority of Hong Kong.

chris currieChris Currie has been promoted to Senior Director at CBRE in Shanghai where he now takes on the role of Head of Sales Management, China for the property agency. In this newly created role Currie appears to be tasked with ensuring consistency of service and professionalism in an enterprise that has historically struggled with high levels of staff turnover. This latest step up comes three years after Currie joined CBRE in China, where he most recently served as a Director with the company’s Office Services team.

marcus bowenMarcus Bowen has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as Regional Director for Client Care & Operational Excellence with the real estate agency. Bowen joins CBRE from CBL Technical Limited where he had served for the last year as a Director providing building technical and facilities management services. The graduate of De Montfort University in the UK has also served in Asia with Prudential and spent six years in Hong Kong as a director of independent real estate consultancy CASP-R Limited.

As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
