A set of Singapore moves dominates this week’s list of human resources updates from Asia’s real estate community, led by Keppel DC REIT naming a new independent director, and PAG adding a managing director to its team in the city. There’s also a promotion at KPMG and Manulife is adding to its corporate real estate team in Hong Kong.
Keppel DC REIT Management announced on 1 November that it has appointed Yeo Siew Eng as an independent director on its board with effect from that same day. Now 64, Yeo was a partner with Deloitte & Touche in Singapore until her retirement in 2018 and the University of Singapore graduate is now a director with government transportation operator Transit Link and other listed companies.
PAG has added to its team in Singapore, hiring Manwin Sidhu as a managing director with its real assets group, according to a LinkedIn update. Sidhu joined PAG after more than 14 years with GIC, where he had served most recently as a senior vice president with the Singapore sovereign wealth fund. The University of Pennsylvania graduate also has previous experience with Morgan Stanley in Tokyo and New York.
Anulekha Samant has been promoted to co-head of the asset management and real estate tax department at KPMG Singapore, alongside Teo Wee Hwee. Samant is taking her second step up with the financial consulting firm after joining KPMG as a tax director in July 2018. In October 2019 she earned a spot as a tax partner with the firm and also has previous experience with PwC in Singapore and JP Morgan Chase in Switzerland.
Timothy Horton has joined Manulife in Hong Kong as a vice president for Asia corporate real estate, according to a LinkedIn update. Horton took on his new role at the Canadian financial services giant this month after spending more than seven years with US competitor MetLife, where he had served most recently as head of real estate and corporate services for Asia Pacific (excluding Japan). The University of Queensland graduate also has experience with Cushman & Wakefield in Vietnam and UOA Group in Malaysia.
Yann R Deschamps joined MCX Interior this month as regional operations director for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn update. Deschamps made his move to the interior design, architecture and construction firm after working as regional commercial director with serviced office provider Arcc Spaces for more than two years. Previously, he served with Savills in Singapore and Shanghai.
OUE Commercial REIT has appointed Mary Ng as vice president for investor relations, according to a LinkedIn update. Based in Singapore, Ng joined the SGX-listed REIT from public relations agency Tulchan Communications, where he had spent just less than a year and a half as a director. The graduate of Hong Kong Baptist University and the University of Hong Kong also has previous experience with Helix PR in Singapore.
JLL announced on 1 November that it has named Luke Xie as a director with its hotel project services team for Southeast Asia, effective from that same day. Based in Singapore, Xie joins JLL after serving with locally-based serviced apartment giant Oakwood, where he had served as director of technical services. Xie also has previous experience in project management and design with MDP Associates.
