This week’s review of people in transition across Asia brings us an update from Hong Kong where a US industrial giant makes global-level appointment and a Hines veteran has left Sydney to return to Los Angeles. Also in making the list is a new Singapore hire for Brookfield and an Executive Centre veteran takes on a new challenge in Hong Kong.
Claire Cormier Thielke has been named global head of product development for industrial specialist Prologis, taking on her new role this month in Hong Kong after over a year as chief investment officer for Asia at the company. Prior to joining Prologis in 2023, Cormier Thielke spent over a decade at US developer and fund manager Hines, including serving as country head for the company’s Greater China business.
Drew Huffman has headed back Stateside, taking on the role of senior managing director and head of US West with Hines, based in Los Angeles, according to a LinkedIn update. Huffman, who had been based in Sydney since April of last year after earlier stints with Hines in Tokyo and Hong Kong, has taken on his new role in the US during the same month that former former Hines Asia Pacific chief executive Ray Lawler assumed his duties as managing partner and head of Americas with the company.
Tom Zhang has joined Brookfield Asset Management in Singapore as a senior vice president with the global client group, according to a LinkedIn update. Tasked with fundraising strategy and regional management for Asia Pacific, Zhang joins Brookfield after three years with fund manager CBC Group in Singapore and Shanghai, where he was responsible for private equity real estate investment and fundraising. The MIT graduate also has experience with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and China Vanke.
Patsy Li has given up her travelling ways and is back home in Hong Kong looking after global project management for The Executive Centre. Li stepped into her new job this month after nearly five years as executive director for Korea with the serviced office provider and had served as a regional director with the company for more than two years. The graduate of the Macquarie Graduate School of Business has now spent more than 19 years with The Executive Centre.
Charles Russell Speechlys announced this past week that Tun Zaw Mra has joined the UK law firm as a partner with its corporate team, based in Singapore. Specialising in advising on investments, mergers and acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures, particularly in real estate, energy and natural resources, and financial services, Tun joins the firm from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
Marianne Yeo has taken a step up with law firm PK Wong and Nair in Singapore and is now a director after eight years with the local affiliate of US giant Mayer Brown, according to a LinkedIn update. Specialising in real estate and corporate law, the National University of Singapore graduate also has previous experience in corporate real estate with local firm Rajah and Tann Asia, where she spent two years as an associate.
Yasas Wickramasinghe has joined CBRE in Hong Kong as a director for transaction management with the property consultancy, according to a LinkedIn update. The graduate of University of Hong Kong picked up his new name cards this month after nearly nine years with rival Colliers, where he had served most recently as a director in charge of enterprise clients for Hong Kong.
Kathy Lee has been promoted to head of research and retail consultancy with Colliers in Hong Kong, according to a LinkedIn update. The upgrade adds responsibility for the property consultancy’s retail advisory business to Lee’s previous duties leading Colliers research division. Lee has now been with Colliers for more than two years after joining from Savills in 2022.
