Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced a reorganisation of its global operational leadership team, as the unit of Singapore-listed property conglomerate UOL Group looks to expand its hospitality portfolio spanning Asia Pacific, Europe and North America.
The group’s new appointments are led by Jeremy Aniere, who assumes the roles of vice president of operations for Singapore and general manager of Pan Pacific Singapore, the group’s long-established five-star accommodation in the Lion City. Aniere most recently served as general manager of Pan Pacific Perth in Western Australia.
Pan Pacific also hired hospitality veteran Marcel Holman as vice president of operations for China, Indonesia and Japan and named three other VPs to form a team overseeing a total of five regional clusters. The new team reports directly to Choe Peng Sum, chief executive of Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
“By giving each leader closer access and working relationships with their hotels in each region, the reorganisation will boost the group’s pre-opening planning, operating performance, service enhancement, as well as effective implementation at its properties around the world,” Pan Pacific said Thursday in a release.
Regional Leadership
Aniere has more than 25 years of international hotel experience with groups including Hyatt, Shangri-La and Accor.
Before joining Pan Pacific in 2021, the longtime hotelier was vice president of operations for Accor Greater China (South China), where he oversaw the operations of 30 properties under such brands as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman and Novotel.
A former board member of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, Aniere holds a bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing and related support services from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia.
Holman comes to Pan Pacific having most recently served as regional vice president of operations for Greater China and managing director of The Langham Hong Kong. His 35 years of experience in hospitality includes stints at IHG, Shangri-La and Sukhothai Hotels and Resorts, where he was responsible for opening Sukhothai Shanghai as its general manager.
In addition to overseeing 13 Pan Pacific properties across Indonesia, China and Japan, Holman will serve as pre-opening general manager of Pan Pacific Orchard ahead of the new Singapore flagship hotel’s launch in the first half of 2023.
Also taking up Asia duties is Richard Tan, the new vice president of operations for Dhaka, Indochina, Malaysia and Nairobi. Tan joined Pan Pacific in 2011 as vice president for serviced suites.
Beyond Asia
Starting in October, Margaret Paul will steer Pan Pacific’s global launches as vice president of pre-opening, overseeing a growing pipeline of hotels, resorts and serviced suites. In her role as vice president of operations for Oceania, Paul will oversee six properties currently operating in Australia. She previously served as general manager of Pan Pacific Singapore.
On the other side of the globe, Anne Golden will serve as vice president of operations for United Kingdom and North America, as well as general manager of Pan Pacific London, the group’s flagship European property.
Pan Pacific announced last year that it would launch 13 new properties across 10 key gateway cities by 2024, adding more than 3,300 rooms to the group’s inventory and bringing its total portfolio to 48 hotels, resorts and serviced suites across 29 cities.
