Among this week’s set of real estate executives grabbing new jobs, the asset management division of a Swiss bank adds a senior member to its Singapore team, while a warehouse developer affiliated with tech billionaire Jack Ma could be tipping its hand regarding plans in the US by adding a senior level executive from Wanda’s New York office to fill a leadership role in Los Angeles. And, a two year-old developer with 12 projects in nine countries just hired away a senior finance executive from a heavyweight US builder’s Shanghai operations. Jack Wu Guowei has joined Credit Suisse Asset Management Global Real Estate as Director for Real Estate Acquisition and Sales for Asia Pacific, based in the company’s Singapore office. Wu joins Credit Suisse after spending nearly five years with SC Capital Partners in the city, where he served most recently as a Director with the private equity group. The Nanyang Technological University graduate also has experience with Mizuho Financial Group and GIC Real Estate.
Rohan a’Beckett now carries the name card of Jack Ma’s Cainiao Networks with the title of Managing Director of Real Estate and Capital Investment for North America, based in Los Angeles. A’Beckett joins the Mainland China logistics group from Dalian Wanda where he had served for more than five years with the Beijing-based developer, working most recently as Deputy General Manager for Investments and Securities in Wanda’s New York office. A’Beckett also has experience with Goodman, JLL and CBRE.
George Chuang is among the latest in a group of mainland Chinese real estate executives to join Risland US Holdings, with the former Tishman Speyer Executive now serving as Finance Director and CFO with the Hong Kong-incorporated firm. Chuang, who is now based in Risland’s Plano, Texas office, was previously with Tishman Speyer in Shanghai, where he had served for two years as Director for Equity Capital Markets. Chuang also has experience with Dalian Wanda, Treasury Holdings and Morgan Stanley. Two year-old Risland has now established 12 projects in nine countries since 2016, including taking an equity stake in a $700 million project in Queens, New York.
Arthur P G Burnand has been appointed as Property Development and Projects Manager with Steamships Trading Company Ltd, in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Burnand takes on his role with the Papua New Guinea affiliate of Swire Properties after more than four years with the Hong Kong-based developer’s Greater China hotel operations, where he served most recently as Owner’s Representative for China Hotels. The Newcastle University graduate also has experience with John Swire and Sons, and Swire Beverages.
Caroline Dellasega has been promoted to Associate Director with the Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield in Singapore – just over three years after joining the property consultancy’s London team as an Associate. A graduate of the University of Manchester and the University of Reading in the UK, Dellasega has experience with Colliers International in Shanghai, as well as having worked with Drivers Jonas Deloitte in the UK.
CBRE announced that it has appointed Sidharth (Sid) Dhawan as head of its Agile Real Estate division for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Dhawan’s new role involves assisting occupiers, investors and flexible space operators with strategies for flexible workplaces, including co-working and serviced offices. Prior to taking on the new title, Dhawan had spent two years with the consultancy’s Hong Kong operation, where he served most recently as an Associate Director with the Advisory and Transactions division.
