There were more familiar places in new places than we could fit into this column on the first week in April with a leading hospitality consultancy building up its Southeast Asian team, a retail leasing veteran taking on a new project, and much more. Read on for all the details.
Paola Orneli Bock has joined hospitality consultancy HVS as a Vice President, based in Bangkok. Orneli Bock brings over a decade of experience in hospitality real estate consultancy with expertise in hotel feasibility studies, value creation, contract negotiations, strategic and branding analysis and highest and best use assessments. She started her career at Cushman & Wakefield’s London Office and later went on to head their China hospitality division.
Bonnie Huang is now a General Manager with Sino-Ocean Land, based in Shanghai. Huang joins the state-owned developer from competitor Oceanwide Holdings, where she had spent more than a year as a marketing department manager, also based in Shanghai. The retail leasing veteran has more than 15 years experience in the industry, including spending over three years with CBRE’s retail team and four year’s with Li Ka-shing’s Hutchison Harbour Ring Group.
Jackson Zhang is now Head of Facilities Management for Greater China at DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield, following the merger last year of the two real estate service providers. Prior to the DTZ acquiring Cushman & Wakefield, Zhang had served for three years as an Executive Director with Cushman & Wakefield. In his new role, the Beijing University graduate will continue to be based in China’s capital.
Eric Koo has been promoted to Director of Development for Greater China with InterContinental Hotels Group based in Shanghai. Koo stepped up to his new level at the owner of the Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental Hotel brands after serving 15 months as a senior manager in the same division. The graduate of Hong Kong Baptist University has now been with IHG for more than five years.
Wye Yee Low has joined Colliers International as Marketing & Communications Director for the Capital Markets & Investment Services division for Asia with the real estate service provider. This new challenge sees Low returning to Singapore after spending more than two years as Head of Marketing & Corporate Affairs for Greater China at DTZ, based in Shanghai. Altogether Low spent more than ten years in Shanghai, serving with Starbucks and Sakae Holdings before joining DTZ.
Lucy Zhen has joined JLL in Beijing as an Assistant Manager in the International Property Sales & Key Client Relationship Management division as the property brokerage builds up its international property sales division following a strong showing in 2015. The University of Toronto graduate joins JLL from competitor Colliers International where she had spent more than three years in the international properties division.
