This week China’s commercial real estate firms continue to arm themselves with new talent to compete in the burgeoning co-working sector, while experienced leasing professionals are finding new roles with developers eager to fill retail and mixed-use projects. Read on for all the details on who will be carrying a new name card next time that you meet them.
Ivy Fang is now general manager with SOHO China’s 3Q co-working division, covering operations in both Beijing and Shanghai. The hospitality industry veteran comes to SOHO 3Q from the company’s successful Commune by the Great Wall boutique hotel, where she had served as general manager for nearly two years. Before joining SOHO, which is controlled by China real estate glamour couple Zhang Xin and Pan Shiyi, Fang had spent more than eight years in management positions with Marriott International.
Serena Shen has joined LVMH’s L’Avenue project in Shanghai as Head of Leasing & Operations. The retail leasing specialist takes over responsibility for moving space at the 99,740 square metre office and retail building in the Hongqiao area after spending more than a year with local developer Greenland Group as a deputy director. Shen also has previous experience managing leasing for Shui On Land, Thailand’s Central Pattana group and international consultancy Savills.
Roy Woo has signed up with Kardan Land as a general manager with the Beijing-based developer. Woo brings to Kardan more than 26 years of property and facility management experience in Singapore and in mainland China. Most recently the graduate of the University of Portsmouth in the UK spent just over one year as Director of Property Management with Savills Property Management Pte Ltd before joining Kardan earlier this month.
Alton Wong is now a Director in the Valuation and Advisory Services division with DTZ|Cushman & Wakefield in Hong Kong. Wong takes on his new role after serving with the formerly independent Cushman & Wakefield for more than three years – most recently as a senior director – before DTZ acquired the New York-based firm last year. The graduate of Hong Kong University’s master’s program in real estate also has previous experience with JLL and Savills.
Greg Isaacson has been promoted to Senior Manager with the landlord representation team of recently merged property consultancy DTZ|Cushman & Wakefield in Shanghai. In his new role, Greg will be responsible for marketing landmark office projects, maintaining relationships with international developers and investors, and reporting on the booming Shanghai office market. Prior to the merger, the US native headed Cushman & Wakefield’s Shenzhen research team, after joining the firm in 2014.
Lila Li has been promoted to Manager with the office leasing division at Savills in Shanghai. Li stepped up to her new role with the real estate service provider this month after spending more than two years advising international occupiers on their office leasing options. Li also has previous experience as a marketing manager with United Design Group in Shanghai, where she spent two years advising clients in Fujian and Jiangsu provinces.
