Greater China Real Estate People in the News 2015-09-07

This week Greater China’s real estate community begins to see the impact of two major property consultancies merging, as a senior player takes on new responsibilities. Also, two agency veterans find new homes on the other side of the table, and many more moves as we head into September. Read on for more details.

sanjay vermaSanjay Verma has a new role with Cushman & Wakefield, as Chief Executive for Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong with the newly merged company’s Global Occupier Services division. Prior to this latest move, Verma had served as C&W’s Asia Pacific CEO for five years and has been with the firm since 1991. Private equity-backed DTZ acquired Cushman & Wakefield in May of this year, and the two companies announced the formal closing of the transaction last week.

Ben TseBen Tse has joined Savills Investment Management as a Vice President with the investment fund manager, based in Hong Kong. Tse comes to Savills from Asia-based real estate private equity firm Arch Capital Management, where he had spent six months as a Senior Investment Analyst. The University of Hong Kong graduate also has experience with Harvest Capital Partners, ICBC International, and CBRE.

winnie gaoWinnie Gao has joined Jaya International Design in Shanghai as an interior designer. Gao signed up with the Jakarta-based hospitality design specialists after recently completing her Master of Science degree in real estate at the University of Hong Kong. The Guangzhou native also previously spent more than three years as an interior designer with Hong Kong-listed developer Longfor Properties in Beijing.

simon lamSimon Lam is now Leasing Director with developer HKC Holdings Limited, based in Hong Kong. Lam joined HKC after spending more than eight years with property consultancy JLL in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, where he served most recently as head of retail services for southern China. In his new role, the Chinese University of Hong Kong graduate is responsible for strategic planning, marketing and leasing of HKC’s commercial properties.

alvin chinAlvin Chin is now part of the Nike Greater China team where he serves as Director of Integrated Workplace Services, based in Shanghai. In his new role, Chin will be responsible for managing Nike’s facilities in the region, after spending more than 12 years with JLL in Shanghai and Singapore. The National University of Singapore graduate also has prior experience with Procter & Gamble.

hedy leeHedy Lee has joined M Moser Associates in Shanghai as Senior Associate for Strategic Planning with the commercial interiors specialists. Lee took on her new role this month after spending just over two years with CBRE in Shanghai as Associate Director for Workplace Strategy. The University of Technology, Sydney graduate also has prior experience with Swire/HKRI joint venture Dazhongli and Tesco Property.

eliot leeEliot Lee is now a Product Development Manager at Shui On Land in Shanghai. Lee comes to the Hong Kong-listed developer of Shanghai’s iconic Xintiandi project from property consultancy Savills, where he had spent more than two years with the company’s development consultancy team, most recently as a manager. The graduate of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology also has experience with JLL in Chengdu.
