In other job changes around the region, the property manager for China’s tallest building welcomes a new general manager, and there are also people moves at CIFI Group, WeWork, and IWG.
Bernard Seng Chai Mah has been appointed as head of real estate for Asia at Davidson Kempner Capital Management in Hong Kong. Mah joined the investment management firm after parting ways with Bain Capital Credit where he had served as a director for five years. Prior to that, the University of Melbourne graduate had served as a vice president in the real estate investing division of JP Morgan from 2010 until 2014 in Hong Kong, and as a vice president in the real estate investment division of Deutsche Bank in Sydney between 2006 and 2010.
Anthony Dubois has been hired as Asia development director for French real estate development and construction firm Groupe IDEC in Shanghai, according to an update to his LinkedIn profile. Dubois joins IDEC from Immochan China, formerly known as Ceetrus, where he had served for one year as the real estate development and construction director for China, after spending one year and eight months as the company’s China project development manager. Prior to that, Dubois had served as a real estate development director and asset manager for Paris-based developer Icade between 2014 and 2017.
Stephen Liu has been appointed as the general manager of Shanghai Tower CBRE Property Management Company. Liu had previously served as a vice general manager at Shanghai SMI Asset Management from 2008 until 2015, following five years as a managing director at Chongbang Group’s Shanghai Sinan Mansions. Earlier, the Tongji University graduate served as a deputy general manager and project manager for Shanghai Chengtou Land Group.
B-Lam Ho has been hired as a project sales director at CIFI Group in Hong Kong after leaving Unicorn Bay (Hong Kong) Investments Limited where he had served as a sales and marketing manager for nine months. Prior to that, Ho had worked in Phoenix Property Investors’ asset management division – as a manager from 2017 until 2018, and an associate between 2015 and 2017. The UCLA graduate had also served as a sales officer at Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited for a year and a half following a management traineeship.
Garrett Wang has stepped up to programme manager at WeWork in Shanghai after serving as the co-working operator’s senior building openings lead in the city since the beginning of the year. Wang had worked previously in various roles for naked Hub between 2016 and 2018, including senior operations manager and community manager. Prior to that, the University of New South Wales graduate had served as a recruitment consultant for Hays’ Beijing office in 2016 and as a marketing manager for Global Inter-Trade Pte Ltd from 2012 until 2015 in Singapore.
Grace Gu has returned to IWG in Shanghai as a marketing PR and event manager after parting ways with Uluru in Sydney where she had served as a marketing manager for Australia and China between 2018 and 2019. Gu had worked previously for IWG in Shanghai as a marketing supervisor from 2017 until 2018 and as a Regus marketing executive between 2014 and 2017. Prior to that, the University of Central Arkansas graduate had served as an i-media specialist for Greater China at Raffles Education Corporation.
