David Faulkner is set to retire from Colliers at year-end

Colliers International’s head of international valuations and advisory services, David Faulkner, will retire after 16 years with the property services provider, according to an internal email seen by Mingtiandi.

In a message sent to Colliers’ staff, the company’s CEO for Asia Pacific, David Hand thanked Faulkner for his service and praised the UK native for his contributions in growing the professional services division at the real estate firm.

In his role at the helm of the Toronto-based firm’s valuation and advisory business for Asia, Faulkner, who originally joined Colliers in 2003, has been leading the company’s provision of valuations and feasibility studies to clients across all asset types, with particular expertise in mixed use, hospitality, leisure and retail projects.

Industry Veteran to Stay in Hong Kong

Faulkner, who confirmed his plans to Mingtiandi independently, will be staying with the firm through the end of 2019, and said that he plans to remain in Hong Kong, and will continue his work teaching in the Department of Real Estate and Construction at the University of Hong Kong’s Faculty of Architecture.

The 1979 graduate of Sheffield Hallam University in the UK also told Mingtiandi that he will continue to serve on the boards of real estate industry non-profits in the region.

Before joining Colliers after the millennium, Faulkner had spent 15 years with Hong Kong-based agency Brooke Hillier Parker and its successor, Insignia Brooke, after joining the company in 1988. Insignia Brooke, which had been led by current Urban Land Institute chairman Nicholas Brooke, was later acquired by CBRE.

David Faulkner has been an unsung inspiration to the property industry for many years. Leading with integrity and professional values and inspiring others to do likewise.
