This week in Greater China’s community of property professionals we witness a 15 year veteran of the world of sheds setting up shop for a Tokyo-based logistics investment team, a Hong Kong broker make the jump to the world of finance and a brokerage house shoring up its Shanghai investment team. Read on for details.
Jeremy Chapman has joined logistics investor/developer Unified Industrial as Managing Director for the Tokyo-based company’s newly established operation in Shanghai. In his new role the 20-year veteran of China’s industrial real estate sector will be building a team and looking for opportunities for developing warehouses and build-to-suit industrial facilities. At Unified Industrial Chapman will be reunited with company president Josh Olsan after the two previously worked together at now-defunct Japanese industrial REIT New City. Prior to this new role Chapman spent more than five years as a director with Colliers International in Shanghai and also served stints with New City and CBRE in China.
Richard Cowley has joined AIG in Hong Kong as APAC Regional Transaction Manager with the US-based financial services giant. Cowley took on his new regional role last month after spending more than two years as an Associate Director with Knight Frank in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for asset management and investment services with the UK-based property consultancy. The University of Manchester graduate has also worked in office leasing in Hong Kong with Colliers International and Savills.
Sujuan Liu has joined Ecco Shoes in China as Commercial Director with the Danish footwear brand. The veteran of China’s commercial real estate scene signed on with Ecco after spending nearly six years with Spanish fashion brand Mango, most recently as head of expansion for China. The graduate of Holland’s HAN University Liu also has experience working in Spain with Mango and Codinachs.
Ken Xu has joined CBRE in Shanghai as an associate director with the real estate agency’s investment services team. Xu comes to CBRE as the latest addition to a capital markets team that has seen chronic churn in its mainland capital markets team during the last several years. The Shanghai University graduate formerly served as a Senior Investment Manager at Savills for more than three years and also has experience with Ascendas.
As usual, if you know of other China real estate professionals changing their jobs, getting promoted or just doing something exciting, please feel free to share with the rest of the community here at Mingtiandi.
