This week China’s community of real estate professionals sees more promotions at a major agency, a veteran Chinese broker head over to the US to try his luck, and more familiar faces showing up in new places. Read on for more details.
Nick Rose has been promoted to Senior Director with CBRE in Shanghai. Rose, who is a ten-year veteran at the real estate agency, works with the company’s Office Services team with responsibility for tenant representation work nationwide. Rose moved up from Director after originally joining CBRE in Shanghai in 2005. The University of Sussex in Falmer also spent more than two years with CBRE’s Chengdu office developing its capabilities in western China.
Jessica Bu has taken on the role of Assistant Manager with the Asia Capital Markets & Investment Services division with Colliers International in Shanghai, where she will be assisting investors on cross-border deals. Bu’s new position with the agency’s outbound investment team is a change from her former work as assisting Colliers’ asset management clients with their requirements in eastern China. The University of Toronto graduate originally joined the real estate agency in 2012.
Danny Zheng has followed the flow of Chinese capital to the US to set up his own real estate investment advisory shop in southern California, in partnership with Los Angeles-based agency IDS Real Estate Group. Zheng, who formerly served with the investment services teams at CBRE and Colliers International in Shanghai is now based in Irvine, Calfornia, which has become a centre for real estate investment by Chinese high net-worth individuals.
Leo Li has joined Colliers International in Beijing as a Manager with the agency’s Office Services team. Li will be responsible for tenant representation work with Colliers, after spending nearly four years with Asia Pacific Properties as a Corporate Account Manager. The graduate of Beijing International Studies University graduate also has previous experience with Beijing Premium Real Estate Ltd and Yinda Property Management.
Daniel Shwartzer has been promoted to Senior Negotiator with the Office Services team at CBRE in Beijing. Shwartzer, who was named CBRE’s Rookie of the Year for Mainland China in 2014, was promoted to his new role after originally joining the real estate agency in 2013. The graduate of Amherst College works representing corporate clients in fulfilling leasing requirements in Beijing’s office market.
Anson Xu has joined the Shanghai Bund International Financial Centre as a Senior HR Manager with the mixed-use commercial project being developed by Fosun. Xu will be responsible for recruitment at the 420,000 square metre development along Shanghai’s waterfront after spending the last four years recruiting for CBRE in Shanghai, most recently as a Senior HR Officer. The Shanghai Normal University graduate also has previous experience as a recruiter with TESCO.
