This week China’s community of real estate professionals sees a major logistics player building up its team, a Chinese private equity giant recruiting new blood from the international property agencies, and more new opportunities for executives in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Pete Garrison has joined Brookfield Logistics Properties in Shanghai as Commercial Director with the Canadian real estate development and investment firm. In his new role with the company’s IDI Gazeley subsidiary, Garrison is responsible for sourcing logistics investment and development opportunities across mainland China. This new position comes after Garrison had most recently spent more than two years as Director for Investment and Advisory in Collier’s International’s Industrial Services team for eastern China.
Hong Kong-based developer Hang Lung Properties has brought on board Lowell Cheung to serve as a Manager in its Business Planning department in Hong Kong. Cheung joins the developer of Plaza 66 and other iconic projects after spending nearly seven years with competitor Wharf China, where she served as Business Development Manager. Cheung also had experience with Sun Hung Properties before joining Wharf.
Xiaoming Du has moved to Jiuding Capital in Beijing, where he will serve as an investment manager with the domestic private equity firm. Du, who previously worked as a Senior Valuer with CBRE’s valuations team in Beijing, will be working in Jiuding’s real estate investment department. During his previous experience with the real estate services firm, Du was responsible for financial assessment, due diligence, site inspection and other aspects of valuation.
Cyrus Siu is now on board as Director with Infinity Design and Engineering in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Polytechnic graduate and chartered surveyor joins the Beijing-based joint-venture interior design and construction firm after working as a Senior Project Manager for JLL for more than two years. The thirteen year veteran of the construction and real estate sector also has served with EC Harris and Swire.
Stan Alexandrov has joined serviced apartment developer The Ascott Limited as a Residence Manager based in Shanghai. The MBA graduate of London’s Greenwich University previously was employed as General Manager for Urban Holdings Willowbrook at Greenhills villa project in Pudong. Alexandrov also previously worked with GE, JLL and Cushman & Wakefield during his ten years of professional experience in China.
Cathy Wong is now covering the HSBC account for JLL, as a senior facilities manager based in Singapore. Wong’s role is a change from her previous position as Senior Operations Manager with the real estate services provider, where she had responsibility for providing client and facilities services to Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The graduate of Hong Kong Polytechnic now has more than four years of experience with JLL after joining from the Le Meridien hotel group.
