This week China’s real estate community sees a familiar face turning up at a Dutch fund manager, new leadership for an agency’s office team in Beijing, and many more moves. Read on for details.
Joelin Ma is now Senior Portfolio Manager at APG Asset Management in Hong Kong, where she will specialise in non-listed real estate investments. Ma joins the Dutch pension fund manager from Composition Capital Partners where she had served as a director for the last six years. The University of California at Berkeley graduate also has experience working for JP Morgan, Citigroup and Macquarie.
Property consultancy Knight Frank has brought on board Ian Bustamante as Head of Commercial Services in Beijing. In his new role, Bustamante will be responsible for providing relocations, lease renewals, rent reviews, lease restructures and dispositions, market research and planning services to occupiers in Beijing. The 10-year industry veteran most recently had served as an Associate Director with CBRE in Beijing.
Serviced office developer The Ascott Group has promoted Alan Lai to Area General Manager, based in Guangzhou. Lai’s new role is a step up from his previous position as Deputy Area General Manager. The Ecole Centrale de Paris graduate and former major in the Singaporean air force has been with The Ascott since January 2013, after joining from developer CapitaLand, where he had served as Principal Private Secretary to the President and Group CEO.
Ben Min is now Vice President for Investment at Realpower Capital, based in Shanghai. Min joins the domestic Chinese investment shop after spending 10 months at Ping An Trust as an Investment Manager. Min, who holds a Masters in Real Estate Project Management from City University of Hong Kong also has served with Goodman, Colliers Savills, and Knight Frank during his eight year career.
Ke (Ken) Yang has joined real estate service provider Cushman & Wakefield in Beijing as a Director with the company’s project management division. Yang comes to C&W after spending three years with JLL as a senior project manager in Beijing, after returning to China from Australia in 2011. In Australia the Shenyang University graduate worked on a number of projects with Savills and other providers.
Veronica Jiang has joined property services provider CBRE in Chengdu as a Senior Analyst with the company’s Investment Services division. Jiang new role comes after the Sichuan University graduate spent the last 10 months as a Senior Consultant on Outbound Investment with JLL’s Capital Markets team in Chengdu. Jiang also worked with Colliers’ Investment Properties team in 2012 and 2013.
Yifei (Chloe) Zhan is now Manager for Asset Management at Shanghai City Property based in Shanghai. Zhan is taking on her new role after completing her Master of Science in Real Estate at the University of Hong Kong. Prior to pursuing her Master’s degree, Zhan had spent nearly three years with JLL, before finishing her time there as an Assistant Manager with the Research team.
